Woo!
Star.
Hey, Mindy, what's your, wait, is that my telescope?
Sure is, Guy Raz.
Did you know that you have only three locks on your cabin door and that Reggie's really good at picking those locks?
I guess I do now.
So which stars are you looking at?
Well, I like to start with Polaris.
The North Star?
Right.
And Polaris is part of the little dipper constellation.
And then I look at the big dipper.
And then, huh, I've never seen that star before.
Can I see?
Oh, yeah, sure.
Here you go.
I don't think that's a star.
What is it?
Well, I'm not sure, but it's moving towards us.
Huh, it almost looks like a flying saucer.
What in the wow?
Are we about to make our first contact with aliens, Guy Raz?
I think we might be.
I can't believe it.
This is so exciting.
It's getting closer.
It's almost here.
Wait a minute.
Mindy, you're just moving a toy UFO in front of a telescope.
Gotcha!
Mindy!
Camp Wee Wow is an awesome place.
Physics, biology, and outer space.
Science explorers with our headquarters.
Oh, Dennis.
Here at camp we wow.
Okay, that's enough.
Hey, G4s.
Oh, baby, no.
Oh, yeah.
Welcome back to Camp WeWow, the invisible summer camp for science explorers everywhere.
With your camp counselors, Guy Raz.
And Mindy.
This week is Space Week, inspired by our Wow in the World episode, Hey Mars, Put a Ring on It.
We're so excited because today we have a space snacktivity on our to-do list.
But first, here's Dennis with a to-don't list.
Don't forget to put on sunscreen as you go about today's activities.
I, however, don't require sunscreen as I stay indoors at all times.
Okay.
I am what my mother calls a sensitive inside boy not built to withstand the light of day.
Also, I have been asked to remind everyone that there will be no riding of boats without a life jacket.
Personally, I find boating to be a nonsense, waste of time when we have a perfectly functional bridge that goes over the water.
Dennis!
It also says here that the bridge into camp has been temporarily closed for maintenance.
Oh.
Well, one final announcement.
Please set aside one life jacket for Dennis.
That is all.
And done.
Thanks, Dennis.
We're going to head over to the mess hall to make our space snacks.
And while we're walking, we have a special message for the grown-ups back home.
Take it away, Wow Cow.
Moo!
Camp Wee Wow will be right back.
Grown-ups, this message is for Moo.
I mean you.
Hey, grown-ups.
It's Mindy and Guy Raz here from Wow in the World.
Mindy and I have some We'll see you next time.
That's it.
I'm back.
Welcome back, campers.
It's space week here at Camp WeWow, and we're in the mess hall for today's snacktivity.
I love snacks, and I'm also a mess.
We're going to be turning regular snacks into space snacks.
Well, let's get going.
I'm starving.
All I've had to eat today was an apple, a stack of pancakes, three raw onions, eight granola bars and a pot of Five Alarm chili.
Campers, for this activity, you'll need to grab some snacks.
Finger foods like dry cereal or fruit and veggie slices are going to work best for this.
Now, arrange your snack into a scene from space.
For example, I took different pieces of fruit and used them to make a model of the solar system.
You've got a blueberry from Mercury, a grape for Venus, a raspberry from Mars, And so on and so forth.
Oh, and you also used pomegranate seeds to give your kiwi Saturn its rings.
Exactly.
Want to make your own space snack?
You know I do.
Let me just grab my blueprints here.
Blueprints?
Grab a wrench...
Why do you have so many tools here, Mindy?
A hammer, a screwdriver.
Oh, Reggie, will you hand me that welding torch?
Thank you.
Welding torch?
And finito.
Mindy, is that a Yep, an exact full-scale model of the Mars Rover Perseverance, made entirely out of beef jerky and yogurt?
Come on, Percy, let's get you to Mars.
Shh.
Hey, Grandma G-Force.
I got here as fast as I could.
I am so excited for the outer space scavenger hunt.
Where is everyone?
Oh, I told them to get out of here.
Get.
Get.
That's what I said.
Get out of here.
Go away.
Right.
Well, this was supposed to be a group camp activity, but this could be fun, too.
Where do we start?
Well, first I'm going to put this here blindfold over your eyes like so.
Stay still, Mandy.
Okay, thanks for the blindfold.
But you know, I thought that the whole point of a scavenger hunt was that you were supposed to like look for things with your eyes.
Yeah, well, tell Grandma G-Force what you see.
Well, with this blindfold on, I see dark.
Darkness?
Like, nothing.
It's like staring into a black hole.
Well, there you go.
Outer space scavenger hunt complete.
Huh?
Now let's go get a snack.
Thank you for joining us.
Today for Camp Wee Wow, we had a great time making space snacks.
And you can make any snack into a space snack.
Just grab some dry cereal, crackers, or ask a grown-up to cut up some fruit and veggies.
Any finger food will work great.
And then we want you to arrange your snacks into a space scene.
You can make a planet with moons, a shooting star, a rocket ship blasting off or anything else you can think of.
And make sure to take a photo or a video.
Grown-ups, you can upload pictures and videos to us at Tinkercast.com slash share.
This week, we're also asking you to tell us where you would go if you could visit any place in the galaxy.
Call us at 1-888-7-WOW-WOW.
Your call just might be shared at our campfire on Friday.
And come back tomorrow for another great day of Tinkercast.
