Hey folks, Robin from Dear Headspace here.
Now, who doesn't love a little luxury?
I know I do, but I don't love the price tag that usually comes with it.
That's why I'm obsessed with Quince.
Now Quince has everything from 100 % Mongolian cashmere sweaters, and washable silk tops to organic cotton pieces.
And the best part? They cut out the middleman and work only with ethical factories, so you are getting premium quality without the markup.
Now, I recently snagged the suede clog mules and let me tell you, in love.
They're comfy, effortlessly cute, and they feel just as luxe as designer brands that I have seen for double the price.

Hey there, welcome to Radio Headspace.
It's Dora. And can you believe it?
It's almost Friday.
Let's talk about something that hits close to home for so many of us.
Burnout. A recent study from May, 2024 showed that 44 % of U .S. employees reported feeling burnt out at work, 45 % feel emotionally drained and 51 % feel completely worn out by the end of the workday.
But here's where it gets even more interesting.
The same study showed that only 22 % feel anxious, 50 % often experience a sense of belonging and 40 % feel a sense of fulfillment.
I recently had a conversation with a close friend where I was explaining how, despite my mindfulness practice, I too was feeling the weight of burnout.
And in the middle of this conversation, she asked me a simple but profound question.
Well, how did you get here?
And it caught me off guard, how did I get here?
How did so many of us get here?
It's a question I've been reflecting on ever since.
So let's dive into that.
That seemingly simple question of how did I get here was a question I hadn't asked myself yet.
It made me reflect on the countless decisions, actions, and moments that brought me to this point, reminding me that life is one long winding path with each choice shaping where I am.
Work, yes, is part of it, but there's more.
It's the state of the world, the climate crisis, the pressures of capitalism, the grief of aging parents.
The layers are many, and though it's tempting to point to one source of stress, the truth is that burnout doesn't come from just one place.
It's the product of prolonged unmanaged stress.
What's most striking about stress is its ability to narrow our vision, making us feel stuck in a cycle of constant reactivity.
We react, our fight or flight system kicks in, and suddenly were trapped in a trance, moving from one task to the next without truly being present.
But here's a gift of mindfulness.
When we pause, when we start to ask ourselves how we got here, we create the space to shift, moving from doing to being, from reactivity to resilience.
It's in that pause, that moment of awareness, that we can begin to unravel the cycle and choose a different path forward. Now, I know, the irony.
I teach mindfulness to help others manage stress, yet here I was, completely burnt out.
I knew all the tools had the theory down pat, But somehow, when it came time to recover myself, I approached it like another checklist… Wake up at 6am, meditate for 10 minutes, read for 10 minutes, limit screen time, walk briskly outside.
It felt like the perfect plan, and who could argue that?
By day 3, I realized my recovery routine had turned in to yet another thing I had to manage, another deadline on my to -do list. Instead of feeling better, I was more stressed than ever.
I had somehow turned the act of resting into a task to accomplish.
So I hit the reset button.
Instead of adding more to my plate, I started practicing letting go.
I gave myself permission to feel my way through burnout, rather than treating it as something to fix.
And it turns out, sometimes the most healing thing you can do is not doing anything at all.
It's about being, not fixing.
If you're like me on a burnout recovery journey, here are a few things I've learned that have been helpful.
First, talk about it.
Burnout flourishes in silence, but when we open up and share our struggles, something magical happens, shame loses its grip, and connections begin to heal.
Sharing your experience with someone you trust can be incredibly freeing, it reminds us that we're not alone.
Next, listen to your body.
Pay attention to how burnout shows up for you, whether it's tension in your shoulders, sleepless nights, or a mind that can't quiet down.
These are signals from your body telling you it's time to pause, reset, and heal.
Acknowledging them is the first courageous step towards real change.
It's also important to identify the type of rest that you need.
Physical rest might not be enough, burnout often requires more.
Maybe what you really need is emotional rest, creative rest, or even social rest. Research the seven types of rest and find what will most nourish your spirit.
Rest isn't just about sleep.
It's about replenishing every aspect of yourself.
And remember, burnout doesn't mean that you're failing.
It's a sign that you've been caring more than you should for too long.
Kind of like a muscle that's been overworked.
Recovery requires patience, care, and gentle restoration.
Be compassionate with yourself as you begin to heal.
Take things one step at a time and remind yourself you are more than your productivity.
You're a human being, deserving of space to rest, recover and renew.
And you're also worthy of care, especially from yourself.
So thank you for spending this time with me, and until next time, take care of yourself and be gentle on your journey.
