Hey, Story Pirates Podcast listeners.
Peter here. And you may not know this, but I'm constantly thinking about what the consequences of an intergalactic invasion would be.
You know, if space aliens came down to Earth, would we get along with them?
Would they take over?
Would they introduce cool new space snacks to our Earth culture?
Cause I hope so. Find out right after a few words for the grownups.
Hey grownups, season seven of the Story Pirates Podcast is right around the corner and it's time for your kids to send us their own stories.
But maybe, they don't know what to write about?
Luckily Story Pirates is partnering this season with The Week Jr., an incredible magazine that kids can't wait to read.

Now, back to the show.
They wrote most of my stories for fun.
There's so much out there that we'll probably never know.
The Story Pirates. Welcome back to the Story Pirates Podcast.
Today's brand new story, as I mentioned, is about an outer space alien invasion.
However, this is not your normal outer space alien invasion.
No, no, no. The space aliens in this story are so well disguised that it's hard for the people of Earth to even know they're being invaded.
What are their disguises, you ask?
Well, take a listen and find out for yourself.
Here are the authors to introduce it.
Hi, I'm Jack, and I'm 11 years old.
And I'm Ellie, and I'm nine years old.
And we're from Virginia.
This is our story. The Blanket & Bacon.
Good morning from Flirp Radio.
Your top news source for Lilliburg City.
The biggest little city on planet Zoinks.
I'm Janks Boingberg.
And today's top story, it's the slime blossom season here in Lilliburg.
And boy, oh boy, is it slimy.
All right, I'm awake.
Oh man, I just broke my clock radio.
I should probably get it fixed.
Or I can just throw it onto my pile of other broken stuff.
Toss! Ah. Perfect. Hey, Rumi, brought you some cereal, extra milk.
Here you go. Thanks, Ray.
P .S. Did I just hear the sound of something else being added to the broken stuff pile?
Don't worry about it.
I'll just get another one.
Yeah, yeah, that's what you always say, dude.
But you still haven't replaced my slime goggles you lost, and now I won't be able to see the blossoms tonight.
Uh, sorry about that.
It really feels like everything you touch ends up ruined.
That's not true. Look, I've been snuggling with your blanket all week.
And so far I haven't.
Whoops! Did you just spill cereal milk all over my blanket?
Eeee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee - ee
-eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -eee -ee tables,
raised blanket Wait, what's raised blanket doing over at that table in the corner?
How did it get here?
Wait a sec. Is it moving?
Here you go! One cookie dough cone.
Thanks. Hey, Tito, do you see that blanket over there?
You mean the milk stain plutonium cotton blanket that just picked up a pair of comically large binoculars and is clearly scoping out the area?
Weird I didn't notice the binoculars before.
How is it even holding them?
Hey Guy, you're dripping ice cream all over my counter.
Oh, sorry. I should probably wipe that up.
Or I could just slowly walk away and hope you forget about it.
Guy, you get back here and deal with this mess.
Oh, look! That blanket just flew out of the store!
I should probably follow it.
Phew! That was some quick thinking, Guy.
Pretended to be worried about Ray's living blanket so I didn't have to clean up that ice cream.
Oh, weird. There's that blanket again.
And now it's flying all the way up to the giant blanket shaped mothership in the sky?
Guy, you better get back in here and clean up your...
Whoa! Is that a giant blanket in the sky?
Yeah, and it seems to be opening its doors to release thousands of flying sentient...
Blankets! Run for your lives!
No! It's a blanket invasion!
Guy, we should run before a blanket catches us and hugs us too!
Ooh! That's comfy to sleep.
Tito. He's out cold.
Oh no! The blankets are making everyone fall asleep!
Guy! Ray, I have to tell you something about your blanket.
No time, Duck! That one narrowly missed me!
Quick! Under that bridge!
I think we'll be safe under here.
It seems like the blankets have wrapped up everyone in the city except for us.
Good thing we found this bridge.
Wait, Lilyberg City doesn't have a bridge?
What is this thing?
Hey, it's a giant ladder.
Guy, I think we found a way up to the ship.
Let's climb it fast so we can stop the blankets.
Right, right. Yeah, we should do that.
Or we could just go home and hope this all sorts itself out?
Guy, our city, and possibly our whole planet needs help.
Take some responsibility for once.
Ugh, fine. Okay, here we are at the top.
Hold it right there.
Wait a second, is that...?
Your blanket, yes I am.
It talks? Oh, yeah, I'm gonna faint.
Here I go. Ray! Well, Guy, it seems you're the only one left.
What are you gonna do with me?
I shall bring you to Lord Blanket.
Did someone say my name?
You're a gigantic duvet!
Yes, I am his royal snuggliness, Lord Blanket.
This ship's duty is to travel the galaxy to see how blankets are being treated on each planet.
And according to this blanket's report, your planet has failed.
Failed? How? His report says that he was splashed with sticky substances thrown on a pile of broken things and threatened to be cleaned via a washing machine.
Isn't that a normal thing to do when something's dirty?
I mean, I'd never clean anything myself, but...
It's very uncomfortable to be thrown around in a machine for an hour, you know.
It's almost as bad as getting drenched in cereal milk.
Yeah, I guess I never thought about that.
And now we want our revenge by putting you all in washing machines while you are all asleep.
Wow, I guess this is, like, consequences for my actions?
Spam up the people!
Turn on the machines!
No! Spare them, please!
Oh, man, this is all my fault.
Why couldn't I just be more careful?
Why couldn't I take care of my things?
Time for you to sleep, too.
Blanket, get him! Nighty night, guy.
Wait. Huh? Ray! Aren't you two forgetting something?
What? Cereal milk. No!
Now I'm all soggy and smelly.
Curse you! Now I have to be washed!
Blankets, retreat! Wow.
You saved everyone, Ray.
Oh, it was nothing.
I'm sure you would have done the same.
No, I wouldn't have.
Ray, let's face it.
My laziness is a real problem.
Not only is it holding me back, but this time it put the whole world at risk.
I guess the moral of the story is to not mistreat your stuff.
Or it might put you in a washing machine.
Yeah, and starting today, I'm gonna start being responsible for my actions and take care of the things around me.
Hey, why don't we start by getting my slime goggles fixed so we can go watch the slime blossoms?
Hey, I should do that.
Oh, guys... Instead...
Don't you do it! I could say...
Don't you say it at the end!
He said it. We'll be right back.

Now, back to the show.
And now it's time for Story Pirates Roll Call!
Tell us your story!
We read them all! You know we love em'!
Number four, Story Pirates Roll Call!
Our first story comes from a nine -year -old from New York named Lila, and Lila's story is called, Street Lamp Ghost.
Now, check out the introduction to this story.
It reads, That's just the first sentence.
Could you believe that even wackier things happen after that and a hundred years pass within the story?
It's full. It's mighty.
It is epic. Great job, Lila.
Our next story comes from a seven -year -old from Rhode Island named Jude, and Jude's story is called, Monster Party Ruiner.
Boy, this is another action -packed story, and I love particularly the main characters' names.
The main characters are Big Bog and Eggnog.
Are they monsters? I don't think so.
But as the story goes on, I start to question whether or not that's true.
And the last sentence really left me wondering.
It reads, And then Big Bog and Eggnog thought they had become monsters.
The end. They thought?
Well, did they? Or didn't they?
Either way, it's an incredible story.
Great job, Jude. Our final story comes from a ten -year -old from Michigan named Grace, and Grace's story is called, The Baby Who Took Over the World.
Now, what I love about Grace's story is that it's about a baby and the baby's older sister who's annoyed that the baby just keeps crying and crying and crying.
And that's pretty much all the baby does until it falls asleep.
And then the rest of the story is an incredibly elaborate dream inside the baby's head in which the baby can talk and the baby takes over the world.
Have you ever read a story like that?
I hadn't, until I read this masterpiece.
You simply must read it.
Great job, Grace. To read all of today's Roll Call stories, head to storypirates .com slash podcast.
Now it's time for you to write us a story.
Grown -ups can submit kids' stories at storypirates .com, and remember, we respond to every single story we receive.
That's it for today's episode.
Thanks for listening, and a big thanks to Jack and Ellie, today's authors.
We'll be back next week with another brand new story.
Until then, stay creative and stay kind.

Boy, that story was something else.
Who would have thought a blanket could secretly be an alien?
Huh. You know, makes me wonder, what else might be a secret space alien?
You know, like, I don't know.
Maybe my fingers. Fingers?
Are you aliens? Um, but you're not, you're not aliens, are you, fingers?
I mean, I don't think you are.
I mean, I'm moving you and, oh gosh, are my fingers aliens?
I don't want alien fingers.
Oh, come on. That's how I eat snacks with my fingers.
Now you're telling, you're telling me my fingers are aliens from space that came down and took over my fingers, replaced my fingers?
Wait, this isn't. How did the aliens become my think?
Was I born with alien fingers?
This doesn't make sense.
This doesn't make sense, which means it couldn't possibly be true.
And which is exactly why it probably is true.
Fingers! What are your plans?
Are you planning to take over Earth?
Oh fingers, you've betrayed me.
Oh, maybe you're friendly space aliens.
Are you friendly space aliens that came down from space and took over my fingers to help me eat snacks?
Oh, selfless alien fingers.
I'm so sorry I judged you.
You are welcome. I come in peace to you, my fingers, which are probably, you know, definitely, absolutely unquestioningly space aliens that are here to help me eat snacks.
This makes sense.
