The following podcast is a dear media production.
Hello, welcome back to the podcast.
Welcome to trying not to care.
If you're new here, hello, my name is Ashley.
I post every single Monday, and I app for like 30 to 40 minutes every single Monday.
So if this is your first time, hi, happy to have you.
If you are a regular busty, you listen every week.
Happy to have you back.
Thanks for clicking on today's episode.
So today's episode, I'm really excited about because it's an advice session.
And I love doing advice sessions.
But this one, I wanted to do a big sister advice advice session, because I didn't grow up with sisters.
I have no sisters, I have two older brothers, and I feel like there was a lot of things growing up that I just didn't know.
Obviously, I could have asked my mom, but I feel like it's a lot easier when you have sisters.
And I just wanted to sit down and answer your questions.
I asked an Instagram to send me big sister advice questions like what do you want to know, make them juicy.
So we're doing a juicy unfiltered advice session today.
So I'm really excited to get into it.
If you ever want to ask me questions, you can ask me on Instagram, TikTok.
There's also an advice column like Google Form in the show notes.
So you could also ask there.
But my DMs are always open if you just want to ask me on there.
And a lot of the time, I'll put like a Q &A on my Instagram story where you could just reply to that.
But yeah, so let's get into it.
Big sister advice session juicy and unfiltered.
Should I give the ugly guy a chance?
Yes. But only if you actually like him, like don't date this guy just to be like, well, see, I tried ugly men.
And they broke my heart too.
Like, if you don't like other qualities about them, it's not going to work.
If this man is funny, if he's kind, if he's creative, if you have a good time around him, and the worst thing about him is he's ugly, like that's not the worst thing in the world.
I also think that over time, if you actually really like someone, you grow to find them attractive, even if they aren't conventionally attractive, or they're not someone you would typically go for.
Like, if you really, really love someone, you're gonna be like, they're hot as fuck, even if like, they're not your type on paper, because yes, physical attraction is important.
But humor is so hot.
Like a funny guy is so hot.
Think about Pete Davidson, like to the average person, if he's just like walking on the street, the average person would be like, Oh, he's like not super hot.
He just looks like an average man.
I mean, I think he's hot.
But like to the average person, they're like, Oh, he's just like an average looking man.
Some people might say that he's ugly.
But we know that he's funny.
And that's super hot.
After my last relationship ended before I started dating Josh, I told myself that the next guy that I would date, I wasn't going to date them just because they were hot, or I was attracted to them, or there was some type of status.
I wanted to date them because they were kind to me and respectful.
And they love me, and they were obsessed with me.
And we had a genuine connection.
Because before Josh, I only dated guys who were older than me.
I was a freshman, they were seniors.
And I looked at them like they were this prize that I had won, I thought they were so hard to have.
And because I had them, I won something and it's like, spoiler, they weren't hard to get like literally anyone could get them.
They weren't every girl's inbox.
They weren't a prize.
And they were just so toxic.
And the only reason I was in those relationships is because I was attracted to them.
And I thought they were cool.
There was like a power dynamic, because I was a little freshmen and they were seniors.
And I watched all these girls, you know, drooling over them and me thinking they were so cool.
And then I get into this relationship.
And we didn't actually build a strong foundation or have really anything in common.
Like what do you have in common with a girl that's three to four years younger than you?
Not much. And I just didn't want to go through that again.
So when my ex and I broke up, I told myself I don't care if the next guy is butt ass ugly, if he's sweet to me, if we have a good connection, if we have fun together, like I'm gonna date them and I'm going to try it out.
And just be very clear, Josh is very, very attractive.
The first night that we got together, I was physically attracted to him.
But Josh is very different than any of the guys I've dated before Josh is my age, he's not older than me.
And we didn't build our relationship off of this, like physical connection, we built a friendship first, and then we started dating and it was just so much different than my past relationships.
Yes, a physical attraction is important, but looks fade and I would rather be with someone who isn't conventionally attractive, but they're nice to me than someone who's hot as fuck, but treats me like shit.
How to feel comfortable with my sexuality and eventually coming out.
Spoiler if you don't know, I came out as bisexual in 2020 to my friends and my boyfriend.
And I kind of always knew that I was attracted to women, but I thought that's all it was.
I thought it was just me thinking women were really, really beautiful.
Because I only had strong connections with men, I only dated guys, and I just didn't know.
But then in 2019, 2018, one of my friends came out as bisexual.
And the way that she spoke about it, I just related to her a lot and I was like, wow, that's exactly how I felt.
And then with TikTok, so many people were open about their experiences.
And I was like, wow, I also relate to that too.
But I just struggled a lot with coming to terms with am I bisexual?
Like I'm dating a man and like, what does this mean?
And how do I move forward?
And I did struggle with that a lot.
But thankfully, Josh is just an amazing partner.
We've talked through it so many times.
And you know, I plan to spend my life with my boyfriend, hopefully to be a fiance soon, we're still waiting on that.
But it was just hard to come to terms with.
But I think now, you know, the year 2024, everyone is very open.
And if like, you're not on board, like that's a you problem, like if you don't want to get with the times and accept people as they are, like that's literally a you problem.
And like, you're weird for that.
And maybe you should go to therapy and figure that out.
When I did come out, I only came out to my close girlfriends and my boyfriend, I didn't come out to like my family.
So if my family is listening, Hey, surprise, surprise, shawty.
But I just like didn't feel like I had to, because I was in a relationship with Josh, like I didn't want them to be like, what does this mean?
Then? Are you and Josh breaking up?
And it's like, no, I was just like a little fruity my entire life.
I think if you're struggling with your sexuality and with coming out, it's good to remind yourself that it doesn't have to be your entire identity.
It can be I know a lot of people enjoy making it their identity, because it brings them closer to their community.
But if you don't feel comfortable with that, it doesn't have to be it's just another thing about you.
It's literally just who you're attracted to what you like.
Just like everyone else.
Like just like if you were straight, it doesn't matter.
You just like people, you just love people.
And it doesn't matter.
It's not that deep unless you want it to be that deep.
I also don't think that you have to come out.
Obviously, if you want to, you can.
And I think coming out is a beautiful thing, because it reminds people to not be afraid to do so.
And I think like when I saw people on tiktok coming out and speaking about their experiences, it did validate how I felt, and it made me more comfortable.
But I don't think you have to and I don't think anyone's entitled to that.
No one needs to know how you feel, what you're thinking, what you're doing, who you like.
Like, that's a part of you that's sacred.
And if you don't want to share that, you don't have to like you could share that with people that you trust and are important to you.
And you feel like they need to know because you need to know if they accept you as you are.
But if that's not something that you want to do, you don't have to.
I also don't think that you need to label yourself if you don't want to.
You know, I came out as bisexual, but I'm also allowed to change my mind.
You're allowed to change how you feel.
If tomorrow you come out as bi, but then the next day you're like, wait maybe I'm pan.
And then the next day you're like, you know what, no I'm straight.
You're allowed to change your mind.
You're allowed to figure out who you are, and if you feel like labeling yourself as putting yourself in a box, don't do it.
Just allow yourself to feel the way that you do, move the way that you want to, and figure it out later.
You don't have to slap a label on it to make other people feel more comfortable.
Now, a word for response or quince.
I can't believe it's almost fall.
I'm so excited, especially because that means a whole new wardrobe.
I love transitioning from summer clothes into warmer clothes for the fall, but getting a whole new wardrobe doesn't mean you have to spend a lot of money.
You can still find timeless and high quality pieces without going over budget.
One of the things that I recommend that you check out for the fall is quince.
Quince has cashmere sweaters from $50, pants for every occasion, washable silk tops and so much more.
The best part is quince items are priced 50 to 80 percent less than similar brands.
One thing that I really really like about quince is they partner directly with top factories, and by doing this they cut out the cost of the middleman and pass the savings on to us.
And quince only works with factories that use safe ethical and responsible manufacturing practices and premium fabrics and finishes, which makes me feel better about what I'm wearing on my body.
If you're not really feeling fall yet or you just don't want to start shopping for fall or maybe you live somewhere that's hot, there's so many other items that you can shop at quince.
One of my favorite workout sets is from quince.
I got their ultra form bike shorts and the scoop neck longline bra in the color forest green.
They are so soft and so comfy to work out in or even just like hang around the house with an oversized crew neck on.
The price point is so good for the quality of the pieces and I just can't recommend quince enough.
Make switching seasons of breeds with quince's high quality closet essentials.
Go to quince .com slash trying not for free shipping on your order and 365 day returns.
That's q u i n c e dot com slash trying not.

Now a word from our sponsor hero bread.
One thing about me is I love bread.
I feel like I have bread with every meal.
It's just essential, especially with fall coming up.
Whenever it gets colder out, I immediately need soup, I need chili, I just want warm food.
And obviously, you need bread with those meals.
I recently started eating hero bread and I absolutely love it.
Hero bread makes bread and buns that are fluffy, delicious, have the best texture and no net carbs, zero grams of sugar and fewer calories plus protein and fiber.
I am a croissant girl till the day I die.
Like there's nothing better than a croissant and an iced coffee.
Hero bread has the best croissants but I also really really like their Hawaiian rolls and their tortillas.
I'm currently obsessed with making quesadillas and fajitas with hero's tortillas and I'm so excited to start making chili because I feel like dipping hero's Hawaiian rolls in it would be so good because the soup spicy but the rolls are sweet.
It just sounds like the perfect combination.
I was really surprised by hero bread because most companies that try to make healthy bread miss the mark and the textures off but hero bread did that.
They did their big one.
The texture is perfect.
The tortillas especially are so fluffy, like I love them.
I literally just had two for lunch today.
I love that I can now enjoy my bread while also hitting my health goals.
Now I get enough fiber, I'm cutting down on sugar, and I'm getting more protein.
If you're a bread girl like me, you love your bread you definitely need to check out hero bread.
You can get 10 % off your order at hero .co and use my code TNTC at checkout.
That's TNTC at H E R O dot C O.
Now let's get back to the episode.
How to not get nervous before or during the kiss.
Well I first want to say like nervousness isn't a bad thing.
Nervousness doesn't mean fear or doesn't have to mean fear.
It can be excitement.
Like you should be excited and nervous and have butterflies before your first kiss.
Whether it's your actual first kiss with anybody or your first kiss with a new partner.
Literally with every partner, I was so nervous to have that first intimate moment with them but it's so worth it because afterwards you're just so giddy and smiley and you're like thinking about it for the next week, month.
You're like oh my god I can't believe this happened.
Especially when you're really young, like when I was in middle school my first kiss I was like oh my god like this is the best thing the entire world.
Like I can't believe that just happened and I am just like beaming from it.
That's a super special moment and it's so normal for you to be nervous about that but also excited.
So I wouldn't you know think too much about it and let that nervousness keep you away from doing it if it's something that you want to do.
Also don't overthink it or put too much pressure on it.
It's literally just a kiss.
Yes it's special between you and this person but it's literally just putting your lips and their lips together.
Just like you holding hands with that person.
It's literally just touching body parts with each other.
It's not that deep and you're nervous but they're probably just as nervous.
The worst thing that's going to happen with this kiss is you know you bite their lip or you bump heads or something embarrassing happens but it's not the end of the world.
If anything if that does happen it's going to make them less nervous and it's also just going to make the moment feel a lot less intense.
That embarrassing moment that you're dreading and you don't want to happen could happen but it could make the kiss feel much more comfortable and it could lighten the mood.
It's okay if the kiss isn't perfect.
It probably won't be because most kissing isn't perfect and most kissing is awkward and a little uncomfortable and no one's perfect at it.
It's not going to be like the movies.
The movies aren't realistic like when they're shooting they literally have people telling them what to do and they have to retake the clip like 50 times.
It's not realistic.
Everyone has messy kisses and embarrassing kisses and it's okay.
Like if you like that person and they like you it's going to be good regardless because you're just happy to be doing it.
How to shave down there without it hurting.
So like I said I don't have sisters so I didn't really have anyone telling me what to do and my mom just didn't really help me when it came to hygiene or anything like shaving related.
I remember in fifth grade begging my mom to let me shave my legs because all my friends were shaving their legs and I'm Italian.
I am a hairy girl and my legs were so hairy and I was like mom we have to do something about this and I don't think she let me shave.
I think she let me near my legs and I hated it and then I think like a month later she showed me how to shave my legs but she never taught me anything about my cooter.
So I really learned everything from my friends.
I remember in sixth grade asking my friend I was like do you shave down there and she was like yeah don't you and I was like yeah duh of course who doesn't do that and I went home and I did it and it was terrifying because I didn't know what to do or like how to do it without cutting myself.
I definitely did cut myself but I just had to learn on my own and through like what my friends told me but now that I'm an adult I feel like I've mastered it honestly.
I rarely get ingrown hairs any razor bumps so I'm going to give you my tips on how I have a clean shave every time.
Do not shave every day.
I don't care how sexually active you are.
I don't care if you're fucking every single day.
Do not shave down there every single day unless you want razor bumps.
The reason I get a clean shave every time is because I allow growth throughout the process.
So like I'll shave today and then I won't shave again for another week or two weeks.
The reason you don't want to shave every single day is because if you do have razor bumps, if you do have razor burn and then you shave over it, it's just going to irritate it and that's when you get ingrown hairs.
So give your skin time to heal before you go over it.
The next tip I'm going to give you is use a men's razor.
I don't know why in this day and age women's razors are such crap in comparison to men's.
I get that men have beards.
So do women but like I get that it's normal for men to have to shave their beards and they need like a strong razor but they have electric razors and also in our society they want women to shave and we're shaving all the fucking time like I literally have to shave my armpits every single day.
Like I said I'm a hairy woman.
Why aren't you giving us better razors?
I don't know. I get I get fired up over it but men's razors are so much better than women's.
I use the Gillette or Gillette Gillette.
I think it's called Gillette.
The Gillette razors, men's razors use a shaving cream.
You're also going to want an exfoliating wash and an exfoliating glove or loofah because you want to rub off any dead skin and get any hair that's underneath the skin up from out of it and like get any ingrown hairs because when you shave over them it's just going to trap them more underneath the skin.
The aftercare after shaving is so important and a lot of people skip this so after you shave you want to make sure you take care of down there because after you're done shaving that's when it becomes irritated.
So when I get out of the shower I'll put some like body oil over the skin that I shaved and then once it's dry I'll put on 10 skin.
10 skin is basically like rubbing alcohol to be honest it does burn when you put it on but it's meant to help remove like ingrown hairs any razor bumps and whenever I've used it it's helped a lot so I really recommend it.
It's like $20 at Target but it lasts a long time.
Something that no one tells you is do not wear underwear after you shave for at least like an hour.
If you have somewhere to be if you need to wear underwear wear like something loose fitting maybe like silky or cottony something that's not going to irritate your skin but if you have the ability to not wear underwear don't wear underwear for like an hour because you want to air everything out you
don't want something tight on that skin.
That skin is super sensitive right now it's going to get irritated you just want her to breathe let your kitty breathe and then after an hour you can put on your underwear but I promise you giving your girl time to breathe is going to help tremendously and then after an hour right before I put my underwear
on I'll put like a non -scented sensitive moisturizer down there.
I want to be clear do not put anything in your cooter but like on the skin that is going to help so much.
How to put a tampon in for a virgin.
I was so terrified of putting a tampon in up until like junior year of high school I would always just wear pads because I was like there's no way that I'm putting something like that up my hoo -ha and I wasn't a do it it seems like it hurts and they don't hurt they're just a little uncomfortable if you
don't have it in correctly but they don't hurt especially the more you wear them you get used to putting it in and it's not a big deal at all.
If you've never put a tampon in before if you've never really gone down there before I recommend that you go down there and do a little investigating just feel some things out it is your body like there's nothing to be ashamed about there's nothing to feel uncomfortable about it is your body like you
should know your body so I recommend you wash your hands feel down there see what's going on and just get more familiar with your lady parts.
I literally grabbed a tampon for today's podcast even though I like don't upload my videos to YouTube I'll probably put the clip on TikTok or Instagram if you want to see but I have a tampon with me today to like just talk about it um because I feel like I need it in front of me to show you guys how
to use a tampon so tampons come in a little plastic thing just rip it open and it is going to be in a little plastic applicator when I put a tampon in I literally just sit on the toilet and just spread my legs but if you don't want to do that you can literally stand up put your leg on the toilet and like
spread them out you know what I'm saying so what you're gonna do is put the top part of the tampon into your coochie you don't want to put your tampon straight up you want to put it on an angle almost facing your back you want to make sure the entire top part of the plastic is in you before you start
pushing the bottom but you want to insert it all the way until the top plastic is in you and then you're going to pull the bottom part until it clicks once you hear that click that's when you're going to push the bottom part and it's going to release the tampon and then you're going to take the plastic
part throw it out and you want the string to be hanging out so when you're done with your tampon you can just pull her out it might take you a few tries to get the hang of it there's times even with me where i'll put one in and i'm like fuck i put it in wrong and i have to put a new one in you want
it to feel comfortable almost like you can't feel it so if you feel like it's popping out or it hurts when you walk or it almost feels dry just take it out and put a new one in it's going to take some time to get used to it but the more you do it the better you'll be at it you can even take like a mirror and like
look down there while you're doing it just to see what's going on if you're doing it correctly and don't feel weird or uncomfortable or ashamed about it it's your body it's so normal and yeah let me know if that helps at all i've never given anyone a walkthrough on how to use a tampon but like i feel
like i kind of killed that now a word from our sponsor zitsticka i know back to school season can be so stressful and i don't know about you but when i get stressed out my skin breaks out so bad and no one wants to be breaking up before the new school year and you don't have to if you're looking for a new

of remember my mom telling me that i should go because i'm getting older and you know women have to do this but i also remember wanting to go because i wanted to get on birth control and i told my mom that i wanted birth control because of hormonal issues my period but i really only wanted it because i
was sexually active with my senior boyfriend which is so disturbing to look back at now but that's why i originally wanted to go and i don't really remember the appointment itself i just kind of remember them asking me typical questions about my period you know how i feel um if i if i'm sexually active
and it was very awkward because my mom's standing right next to me and i'm like no of course not me little me i'm just a freshman in high school i would never know boys are boys are gross if this is your first time going to the gynecologist there's a few things you should expect but i think it also depends
on your age like if you're under 25 i don't think you get a pap smear but i don't know but if you're like in a high school i think that all you should really expect for your first visit is those like generalized questions of like your medical history your periods uh sexual partners things like that but they'll
also give you a breast exam and they'll probably examine down there i definitely was very nervous going into my first obgy an appointment because i knew they would have to give me a full exam and i just didn't love the idea of someone touching my private parts especially with past trauma but and even
now like i still don't love it but it really isn't that bad it's super quick it's very professional i think the breast exam took maybe a minute if that and they're only feeling to make sure everything is good make sure they don't feel any bumps and they'll also show you how to give yourself an exam
too so when you're at home you can feel around make sure everything feels good so if you ever do feel a bump you can call and make an appointment and they'll check it out for you now if you are of age to get a pap smear i am going to warn you it is not fun it is not a good time uh zero out of ten would not recommend
very painful basically when you get a pap smear they have you get butt ass naked and you put on this paper thin gown that you typically would wear at the hospital and you sit on this very long table like bed thing that has these holders for your feet so you lay back and you put your feet up onto these
holders and your legs are spread open super vulnerable super uncomfortable and they go in with this very cold metal protractor looking thing and they go into you with that and they pinch and they twist and they do whatever they need to do and it hurts and i've seen so many women talk about how insane
it is that they do this with no numbing with no pain medication it's actually awful but it is needed and i do recommend women get them if you know you're able to but i just like don't recommend the experience like i wouldn't be like you know that was so fun that was so great like no it's awful but i
think the best thing that you can do is just be open and honest like if they're doing that and it hurts speak up and say hey don't know what's going on down there but that hurts like can you not can you not twist my insides for like a second please just be very open and honest about that about anything
with your doctor i know for me as a woman there's been many times where i've gone and i have just felt super dismissed especially when i had a male obgyn because although you know i respect his practice i respect the fact that he studied this for years and he does this for a living but it's like you
will never understand how i feel or what i'm going through because you are not a woman and it's not fair for you to be like oh well everything looks fine and i'm like well clearly everything's not fine because i'm in pain so i just think the best thing that you can do is just be honest and very direct
with what you need and what you expect from your doctor and don't allow people to speak over you or to tell you that you're fine when you know you're not fine like the main reason i left my last obgyn is because he gave me a hard time about my birth control i had nexplanon which is the birth control
that goes in your arm and i was having the worst mood swings the worst acne i had my period for like six months straight and when i asked him to remove it he was like i hope you're not trying to get pregnant like you're so young and it's like bitch what if i am like that's none of your business you
shouldn't be telling me whether you think i should or shouldn't have birth control or or if i shouldn't or like should have a baby that's none of your business so he gave me a lot of trouble with that and just anything that i had questions about or concerns about he always just dismissed how i felt
and i just didn't feel heard or understood or taken care of and just he didn't meet my needs so i left and i'm still in the process of finding a new obgy i'm actually going next month but yeah just make sure that you're very vocal about what you expect and what you want and if they're not meeting your
needs leave and find a new one like it might take time but it's better that you have a doctor that takes you seriously and helps you and gives you what you want than to stick with one just to have one are you on birth control and do you recommend so i got on birth control when i was a freshman in high
school i had to be like 14 or 15 years old i believe so i was on the pill up until i believe my senior year of high school and that's when i switched to next plan on which is the bar in your arm like after three years of being on it i got it replaced and then when i got it replaced i literally bled
for like six months i remember there was a year where like i never got my period and i was like oh this is sick like i there's a very small chance of me getting pregnant and i don't have my period like this is awesome and then i had a period of time where i always had my period like i was always bleeding
i was always spotting and then on top of that i had the worst acne like acne all over my cheeks all over my face like just everywhere all over my face and i was so emotional i was crying all the time i was so angry i just was not having a good time and then i begged my doctor to take the bar out of my
arm and like i said he gave me a hard time about it but he finally took it out of my arm after i had it melt down and i was like please sir like please like i am miserable please take this satanic bar out of my arm please before i rip it out like i started threading i was like i will literally rip it
out of my arm if you don't safely i will do it my own way and he did it for me thank you um and then i got put back on regular like birth control pills i don't remember exactly which one but i was on birth control pills from then on that was like 2018 up until 2022 i think is when i got off birth control
i think birth control is like any other medication you need to figure out what works for you and it's not like a one -size -fits -all like just because i loved next plan on the first three years doesn't mean that you are like you might have the same experience i did the fourth year i had it where it was awful
and i just think it takes time to find one that works for you if you're going to be on it i also think it's important to weigh the pros and cons of why you're on birth control like if you're only on it because you want to be sexually active but while you're on it you're depressed you're tired you're
gaining weight you have severe acne maybe birth control isn't for you or maybe that birth control isn't for you i just don't think that's worth it and that's why i ended up getting off of it because i was like wow you know i'm struggling and like is it even worth it another reason why i got off birth
control is because i didn't know how my body functioned without it i had been on it for so long like i got on it in 2012 and i got off of it in 2022 that's 10 years of being on medication that's you know affecting a huge part of you and your life and your body and i just wanted to know what i would be
like without it like would my personality be different would my body be different it definitely took some time to get used to being off of it i think the first year my body went into shock of being like what the fuck is going on but now that it's been what two years i i would say that i like being off
of it i don't have acne anymore and maybe that's just because i'm older but i have no acne i'm much more mentally sane mentally stable like i'm not as emotional as i was because i was i was crying all the time while i was on birth control and yeah i'm just a lot happier but i will say the only thing
that i've noticed being off of it is that it takes a little more work to lose weight if i do want to lose weight like i had a very very fast metabolism while it was on birth control and i think that slowed down and maybe it's just with age too but that's really the only thing that i've noticed that's
super different being off of it i don't want to say whether i think you should or shouldn't be on birth control i think that's entirely up to you but i do think you should weigh why you do and why you don't want to be on it and i think you should think long term of do i just want to be on it right now
or do i want to be on it for the next 10 years just really think about how it's going to affect your body in the future and if that's something that you're okay with and yeah just make sure that you're confident with your decision and just know that it's your decision and no one else's and just do what's
best for you okay this is going to be the last question for this episode how to deal with feeling guilty after eating i used to feel really guilty about eating certain food like eating fast food eating candy eating cake eating ice cream having sugar in my coffee and then it turned to feeling guilty
about eating in general i would be eating dinner you know having a healthy meal and i'd be like okay well if i skip this meal i'm going to look skinnier tomorrow if i don't eat these calories i can eat something that i actually want tomorrow and i just developed a really really harmful terrible relationship
with food the thing is you can only skip so many meals like you need food to survive food is fuel and i know we hear this all the time but you literally need to eat when you don't eat you have no energy you're tired you don't want to do anything you're miserable and you're a bitch like no one wants
to be around you when you're being a bitch and you know there's some people that might be like well i'd rather be miserable and skinny than happy and fat but let me just say this your friends don't care that you're skinny i would much rather be with someone or be around someone who is happy and isn't
stick thin than someone who's being a bitch to me but it looks like a supermodel no one cares how you look but you people want to be around you because of your energy because of who you are as a person but if you're letting food dictate who you are you know you might be super skinny and have the body
that you want but you're not going to have anyone around you you're not going to have a support system you're not going to have people that love you you're sacrificing a beautiful life just to look a certain way and it's like for who for who for society for people that don't care about you like why
do you want to do that instead of viewing eating as a negative thing view it as a positive thing that you're doing for yourself because you are doing good for yourself you don't look at sleep as a negative thing you don't get mad at yourself because you need to sleep you know that that's good for you
you don't get mad at yourself when you go to the gym and work out you don't think like oh god i'm so pissed that i just wasted an hour of my life like i could have been doing something more productive with my time i'm so mad that i did this because you know that it's good for you the same thing with food
your body needs it you're doing something good for your body your body needs energy like you shouldn't be mad at yourself for giving your body what it needs i have struggled with eating for so long and i'm just going to give you a few tips that have helped me like have really helped me they seem silly
but they really have helped me one tip is eating with someone like my boyfriend doesn't get it sometimes like i'll we'll go to Taco Bell and i'm like you're getting something right and he's like no i'm not hungry i'm like no you need to like you need you need to eat with me like if you don't eat with me
i won't and it's just like this comforting thing about okay it's okay for me to be eating right now because so is my boyfriend so is my friend like we're eating together if i'm not mad at them for eating i shouldn't be mad at myself for eating too and then kind of the same thing if i'm not with someone
but i am struggling with food if i'm feeling guilty about eating something i'll sit down and watch a mukbang of someone eating while i eat especially someone eating the same exact thing that i'm eating so like let's say that i'm feeling guilty about eating Taco Bell i'll watch a video of someone else
eating Taco Bell and it just reminds me like this is so normal like i shouldn't feel guilty that i'm eating this like other people do this too it's okay for me to eat this you know i shouldn't be mad at myself for doing this like this is a fun experience i should be excited to eat this i want to eat this it's
okay to eat this and then another tip that helps me is planning and like scheduling what i'm going to eat throughout the day it doesn't have to be super healthy just knowing beforehand what i'm going to eat so that way i'm not just like snacking throughout the day and then at the end of the day spiraling
like oh my god what did i eat why did i eat so much that way i know beforehand like okay you're going to eat these meals today and these snacks today and it's okay for you to do that and i prepare myself and i know like okay at this time i have breakfast at this time i have this snack and a coffee and then
lunch and then this snack and then dinner and then this snack and everything is okay and i just feel more prepared and more calm about doing it and i don't spiral over it the last thing that i want to say about this before i wrap this episode up is eating is not going to harm you not eating is going
to harm you i was so afraid like oh if i eat this meal i'm going to gain so much weight and it's going to cancel out the workout that i did if i eat taco ball right now it's almost as if i didn't go to the gym and i'm going to gain 10 pounds and it's like no you having a snack you eating what you want
is not going to disrupt all the work that you've done it's not going to make you gain 30 pounds like that's not how your body works and it's not the end of the world if you eat something that you want to eat you also don't have to choose between working out and eating what you want like just because you
went to the gym doesn't mean you have to have a salad after just because you went to the gym doesn't mean that you have to skip a meal now you can work out and you can move your body and you can be healthy while also eating what you want you don't have to sacrifice one for the other it's all about balance
duality okay it doesn't matter how beautiful you are or how skinny you are if you're miserable you shouldn't have to sacrifice your mental health and your sanity just to look a certain way you are beautiful and perfect just the way you are and you deserve to eat good that's it for today's episode i
