Hello and hi to all you Pinkamazing friends out there.
I'm Pinkalicious, and this is my little brother Peter, also known as Peterrific, which rhymes with terrific.
Welcome to our podcast where we play our favorite songs and do Pinkatastic things together.
Like going to the beach, because today we're building a sand palace with Pinkalicious and me.
So sing and play with us if you can, okay?
In the car, at home, in your yard, or wherever you are!
Listen!
Can you guess where we are?
We're at the beach, the best place to spend a sunny day.
I just love the sound of ocean waves.
I love how it feels when the sand squishes between my toes.
Do you love that too, listeners?
I think that Seagull just said hello to us and to all of our listeners out there too.
Squawk, squawk, squawk.
That's hello back in Seagull.
Peter and I are so lucky.
We get to spend the whole day doing all of our favorite beachy things.
Friends, what kind of things do you like to do at the beach?
Oh, I want to splash around in the water too.
And play catch with my beach ball.
Catch, Pinkalicious.
Oh, got it.
But my favorite thing to do at the beach is look for things hidden in the sand like rocks and unusual shells.
What about you, Pinkalicious?
My favorite thing to do at the beach is build a sand palace.
Ooh, I have an idea, Peter.
Why don't we do both of our favorite things together?
We can build a sand palace and look for things hidden in the sand to decorate it with.
Hey, I found a seashell already.
I bet we can find all kinds of things in the sand that will make our sand palace pink amazing.
Listening friends.
While Peter and I look for things to build our sand palace with, why don't you look for fun things you can build with wherever you are?
I once built a palace out of blocks.
And I built one out of pillows.
Okay, is everyone ready?
Sing along with us and let's search.
It's time to explore.
To find shells on the shore, To make windows or a door.
I'm gonna build a sand palace.
This driftwood could make a wall Or a drawbridge to keep out trolls, With sea glass to make portholes For the princesses and a carriage.
What could this seaweed be?
A lawn, a curtain or leaves for a tree So many things around to use creatively.
Anyone can make a castle if they just use sand, But the beach is full of so many things to make a palace land, My sand palace made from things I find.
Sea treasure all around me sparks ideas in my mind.
All the things I need are here Great singing, everyone.
I hope you found some treasure and made some pinkamazing palaces of your own, just like me and Peter.
Wait, where'd he go?
Peter?
Over here, I see something shiny in the sand.
Come see.
Ooh, that's sea glass.
What's sea glass?
It's glass that the water made nice and smooth, like a stone, so it's safe for us to touch.
This is like searching for real buried treasure.
It makes me wish we could find real treasure to decorate the sand palace with from real pirates.
Hey Pinkalicious, remember when we helped our friend Toothy McSquint find his buried pirate treasure?
Oh, yes, I remember.
We helped Toothy and his parrot Captain Feathers find his special treasure.
Walk!
Toothy also taught us how to talk like real pirates.
And say things like, ahoy, me hearty, and arrr, matey, treasure-searching pirates we be!
Arr!
Arr!
Can you do pirate voices with us, listeners?
Arr!
Ahoy, matey!
Shiver me timbers!
We need treasure!
Arr!
You're all sounding like real pirates, mateys!
Now that we sound like pirates, let's sing a real pirate sea shanty!
Yes!
And keep looking for more buried treasure!
If it's a pirate, ye want to be.
Come on, mateys, sing with me.
Yo-ho-ho and a yo-ho-hee, pirates one and all are we.
Yo-ho-ho and a yo-ho-hoo, we are pirates through and through.
Want to be a pirate just like me?
Find your treasure, whatever it be.
With a yo-ho-ho and a yo-ho-hee, pirates one and all are we.
Yo-ho-ho and a yo-ho-hoo, we are Pirate's Room.
Sea shanties are so much fun!
And while we were listening to the song, I found even more treasure!
That's great, Peter!
Listeners, what is the most special treasure you found at the beach?
That's awesome!
Whoa!
Those sound like the most pinkatastic treasures ever!
Now that we have lots of shells and other pinkcredible treasures, we have to find the perfect place to build our sand palace.
How about we build it here?
Careful!
Here comes the tide!
Oh, it's so cold on my toes!
Maybe we need to build it farther away from the edge of the water.
We don't want our sand palace to get washed away too quickly.
How about here, Pinkalicious?
This looks like the perfect spot!
Time to make the biggest, most pinkatastic sand palace ever!
Woohoo!
A dig, dig, diggity dig, putting wet sand into the bucket.
Uh-huh.
And give it a pat, pat, pat, pat, pat, pat.
Now, flip over your bucket and slowly lift it up.
I did it!
Look!
The sand is in the same shape as the bucket!
And it looks like a castle tower!
Keep building, Peter!
This is going to be the biggest, most pinkerific sand palace ever!
Awesome!
Let's go!
Peter, did you just make that sound?
What sound?
That sound!
I thought you made that sound.
Listeners, did you hear it too?
There it is again!
Pinkalicious, look, it's a fish splashing in the shallow water.
Wait a minute.
That's not just any fish.
That's our friend, Fangy.
It is Fangy.
Fangy, remember me?
It's Peter.
I went fishing the last time we went to the beach and caught you.
Then Pinkalicious set you free.
He sure seems happy to see us.
Look, here comes some more splashy fish.
I think they're coming to say hello.
Maybe they want to come live in our sand palace.
I bet Mommy and Daddy will want to hear this too.
Mommy, Daddy, Fangy's back.
Come quick.
Oh, listen.
Fangy is singing his happy song again.
Listeners, let's all sing along with Fangy.
A happy fish swimming in the sea.
Singing a tune for you and me.
Such a pretty melody.
Makes us happy too.
Hap, hap, happy.
Boop, boop.
Hap, hap, happy.
Hap, hap, happy.
Boop, boop.
Snap, snap, snappy.
Be it so.
He sings some sweets, and he sings so strong, the other fishes hear his song and then Hap hap, happy.
Hap, hap, happy.
Hap, hap, happy.
Snap, snap, snappy.
He is so happy.
Hey, Fangy gave me a fish kiss again.
Hey, I got a kiss too.
And there he goes, back out to sea.
Bye, Fangy.
Bye, fishies.
Thanks for singing with us.
Hey, maybe next time you can play in our sand palace with us.
Thanks for playing at the beach with us, friends.
And don't forget to keep an eye out for more buried treasure.
Remember, you never know where you might find treasure, like sea glass in the sand.
You just have to remember to look for it.
Come on, Pinkalicious.
Let's keep building our sand palace.
Woohoo!
That was pinkamazing!
Thanks, everyone, for singing with us.
Before we go, I want to introduce you to a special friend of mine, the author and illustrator of the Pinkalicious book series, Victoria Ken.
Hi, Pinkalicious.
Thanks for inviting me to your show.
I was hoping that you might answer some questions from some of our listening friends.
Would you?
Of course.
That would be fun-tastic.
And I live in Medway, Massachusetts.
And my question is, do you hear seagulls at the beach?
Thank you so much for your wonderful question.
I love to go to the beach and listen to all the sounds at the beach, including the seagulls and the sounds of the waves and the sound of water splashing on rocks.
Sometimes the sound of the wind.
And if you are very, very quiet and a good listener, you can even hear fish jump, which is always very exciting.
What do you like to listen for at the beach?
I wonder.
Thanks, Victoria.
That was pinkerific.
Thank you, Pinkalicious.
It's always fun to think pink with you.
