We think this one is going to be music to your ears.
Literally.
Did I mention it's a musical?
And if you're a member of the World Organization of Wowzers...
Oh boy, do I have a surprise for you.
You can listen to our 250th episode early with me and other members from around the world on Saturday, November 22nd, at 7 pm.

That's it.
It's going to be a November to remember.
But for now, let's get on with the show.
Woo!
It's Wee Wow Week.
Welcome back to Wee Wow, our hands-on crash course in Steam Fun 101 for the science seekers and inventoritos of tomorrow.
I'm Guy Raz.
And I used a mushroom as an umbrella today.
What?
I mean, I'm Mindy.
It's day two of our Wee Wow Tinkering Challenge.
We're here in our laboratory of bad ideas and we are ready to get this.
We discovered that recess can actually make kids smarter.
So for the next four days, Mindy and I will be guiding you through the tinkering process to help you come up with a whole new way for people just like you to experience recess.
The tinkering process is what I use to help me bring all of my bad ideas to life.
In fact, without the tinkering process, I never would have invented the trampoline for land birds.
Or waffle coffee. or backward shoes.
All very useful inventions.
I know!
And let's not forget chewable milk.
I have a feeling that one is really going to take off.
Okay.
Anyway, first things first.
The challenge this week in our Wee Wow Tinkering Challenge is going to be to design the ultimate recess to help us recharge and learn.
Oh, yeah!
Because science Loves recess.
And now we have the research to suggest that not only does it help us to concentrate more, but it also helps us to learn better.
So, do you think you've got what it takes to design the ultimate recess?
Yes!
I was actually asking them, Mindy.
Who?
The people whose ears we're in.
Oh, our invisible friends.
Hi!
Hi!
Who did you think we were talking to?
Reggie.
Okay, well, let's get started.
So the first step in the tinkering process, the step we're going to focus on today, is to identify a problem that needs to be solved and explore ways to solve it.
Think about anything that might prevent kids from experiencing recess.
Maybe it's extreme heat or cold, rain or snow.
Or maybe it's that the equipment isn't accessible for those with disabilities.
Or maybe it's just a matter of not enough time.
And consider that just as we all learn differently, we all play differently as well.
For example, Guy Raz over here likes to play in a structured, where no one gets hurt or sweaty.
And Mindy likes to go bonker balls.
Hey, maybe our ultimate recess could involve actual bonker balls.
Do those exist?
They will when I invent them.
Once you've identified the problem with recess that you'd like to solve, write it down so you don't forget.
Or scream it out the window so no one else forgets either.
We're going to take a short break to give you a chance to identify your problem.
And when we come back, we'll begin the next step of our tinkering process.
But for now, a quick message for your grown-ups.
Hey, grown-ups, it's Mindy and Guy Raz here from Wow in the World.
Mindy and I have some brand new Wow in the World toys out in the world just in time for the holidays.
Made for the kids who love science and for the ones who don't yet.
From our 100 experiments, that Wow kit to the telescope and astronomy kit.
Our Wow in the World toys help your wowzer learn about their world through play.
Plus, you can hear exclusive audio content from me and Guy Raz to help your wowzer discover even more wows.

Welcome back to our WeWow Tinkering Challenge.
Did you identify your recess problem?
Great!
Now it's time to move on to the next step of our tinkering process.
This is where we start to explore.
And by explore, we mean explore different ways that we might solve our problem.
To start, think about your best recess of all time.
What was it like?
What did you do?
Was there something that you'd consider a must-have for the ultimate recess?
My best recess of all time was when Grandma G-Force showed up with an inflatable pool full of melted marshmallows and wrestled all the kids in my class.
So my must-have is marshmallows.
Mindy?
Okay, fine.
It's some kind of container for people, like an inflatable pool.
Okay.
Okay, and my favorite recess of all time was when my teacher brought all of his family's laundry and we had to race to see who could fold it all the fastest.
It was a game of mental focus and physical skill, and I won.
Actually, it sounds like your teacher won that recess game.
So my recess must-have is some kind of physical challenge that involves a race.
What's that, Reggie?
Reggie says that it's not recess for him unless he gets to fly.
Ooh, write that down, Reggie.
While you're exploring all of the things that already make recess great, be sure to think about what equipment you might have, how you would move your body and how it makes you feel.
Think about your must-haves for the ultimate recess.
Building on some of these ideas and must-haves and thinking of new ways to make them even better might help you to design the ultimate recess experience.
And while you're exploring solutions, what materials you already have around you so that you can easily test some of those solutions later this week.
Well, that's it for today.
Just to recap, as we work to design the ultimate recess this week, the first steps of our tinkering process are to identify a problem with recess as we know it and explore ways that you might solve that problem.
And then meet us back here tomorrow as we continue our WeWow Tinkering Challenge and the next steps of our tinkering process, where we use what we did today to plan, create and test.
Until then, who wows?
WeWow!
Grownups, if you like, wow in the world.
You can listen early and add.
