📋 Summary

Q&A Session: Life in the Forest, Personal Reflections, and Daily Routines

In this candid Q&A session, the creator shares intimate details about her life in the remote village of Grundtjärn, addressing questions ranging from her daily habits and personal beliefs to her professional journey as a filmmaker.

Life with Nanook

Nanook, the creator's dog, is a central figure in her life. She explains that he is a mix of Golden Retriever, Flat-coated Retriever, and Labrador. The name "Nanook"—meaning "ice bear" in Eskimo—was chosen because he resembled a bear cub as a puppy. Addressing why he is often on a leash in the garden, she notes that his strong "instincts" lead him to roam the village, scavenge for trash, or chase animal tracks. Keeping him on a leash is a vital safety measure to protect him from "timber trucks" and cars on the road.

Food, Philosophy, and Sustainability

Discussing her diet, she clarifies she is not vegan but focuses on "vegetarian food," supplemented by locally sourced fish and moose meat provided by hunter relatives. Her relationship with food has evolved significantly; she once found cooking "boring," but now views it as a "food journey" focused on healthy, plant-based, and Asian-inspired meals like "wooks." She emphasizes the importance of supporting local businesses, such as the small grocery store in Mykkeljansjö, which is essential for the survival of the local community.

Fashion and Creative Expression

Addressing her distinctive clothing style, the creator reveals that her wardrobe is inspired by "earlier centuries." She avoids mainstream fashion, preferring unique, custom-made pieces often found on "Etsy.com." She notes that she often uses her love for beautiful dresses in her photography, and she harbors a long-term dream of launching her own clothing brand to bring her unique designs to life.

Filmmaking and Content Creation

She dispels the common misconception that she has a camera crew, confirming, "I do all the filming myself." Despite the physical effort of running back and forth to the camera, she finds the process meditative and essential to her creative identity. She uses Final Cut Pro for editing and provides detailed lists of her camera equipment and music in her video descriptions.

Personal Reflections: Privacy and Growth

On the topic of starting a family, she candidly states that she and her partner, Johan, have no current plans for children. She offers a poignant perspective on the pressure women face regarding this topic, noting that asking "when" someone will have kids can be insensitive, as it assumes everyone wants or is able to have children. She advocates for more empathy, stating that such questions can cause "unnecessary suffering."

Reflecting on her past, she recalls living in Gothenburg 10 years ago, where she felt "depressed" and "lost." Moving to the forest was a transformative experience that allowed her to find a life where she feels "fully alive." She views those past struggles as meaningful, as they were the catalysts for her current, more fulfilling life.

Community and Future Projects

Finally, she provides updates on her upcoming jewelry webshop, which was delayed by the coronavirus, and shares that her cow, Stjärna (meaning "star"), has arrived for the summer. She concludes by expressing her gratitude for the community's support and promises to hold more Q&A sessions in the future.

📖 Transcript

So hello everybody!
So I finally thought that it was time to do the Q&A video that I have promised you.
And it's a beautiful day today so I felt that I wanted to sit outside.
So I found this little spot in the forest.
I thought it would be perfect to sit here behind this big rock, so that the light from the sun won't be too hard and hopefully it will cover some of the wind as well.
I already have a lot of mosquitoes around me now or these tiny tiny little mosquitoes.
