  2. Myo-Inositol Supplementation: For those who struggle with sleep quality, particularly those on low-carbohydrate diets, 900mg of myo-inositol taken 30-60 minutes before bed has been shown to enhance sleep architecture and ease of falling back asleep after mid-night awakenings.

The "Sleep Stack" and Considerations

For a holistic approach, Dr. Huberman mentions his personal "sleep stack," which includes:

  • Magnesium Threonate or Bisglycinate: Preferred for their ability to cross the blood-brain barrier.
  • Theanine: Known to enhance sleep, though it may increase the vividness of dreams—those prone to night terrors or sleepwalking should exercise caution.
  • Apigenin: A compound found in chamomile that promotes sleepiness.
