Why you?
I got real stiff all of a sudden.
You can just sit back, relax.
Why are my eyes getting watery?
Welcome back to voice.
Hugs, a podcast about being your best self at opening doors.
Opening life, seasons of life, wait and embracing, and embracing all seasons.
Opening doors, season three, to boys.
Hugs, a podcast on becoming your best self and embracing all seasons of life with open doors.
This is your host.
Vivian and rowena, We're back, baby.
We're back, baby.
We're just oogie boogie boogie.
We just touched fingers and toes.
What is this from?
It's from that one Nickelodeon show.
Rocky anyway.
And then we just touched toes.
I just wanted to give, we just touched, we just wanted to give those who are just audio only some visuals on what we're doing.
And now our toes are.
Look at how cute our socks are.
Roll water on your socks.
They're otters who are holding hands with hearts.
And Viv has a... I have Louie on my sock.
For those of you who don't know, because I didn't talk about my second dog often.
I have two dogs.
Louie is my second dog.
And I got these socks in Korea.
And they look just like him.
So cute.
So cute.
Well, welcome back.
Yeah.
To season three.
Yay.
Yay.
We're back.
It's so classic us to drop off the face of this earth and return with the new season.
With not much notice.
You know, I like to think of voice hugs as like a true reflection of life.
Yes, you know, sometimes you just leave and you take a break.
And you know we're not all perfect at communication.
And something that we acknowledge and we can work on yes together, but we come back better than ever.
Yes yes, i agree.
Well, there's a lot, a lot of changes are happening.
First off, like i'm obviously no longer pregnant, she has no child in her belly.
I have no child in my belly.
Child is Child, is very much doing well, just for the record.
Doing very well.
We were just looking at old episodes, and Rowena was so pregnant at the end of season two.
I think you were about to give birth.
Yeah, I was maybe a month, a month and a half away.
And Viv has some exciting updates.
We'll circle back to that.
Yes?
Yeah.
I thought you were going to say that, say she's engaged.
I know, but you're okay sorry, she's.
She's flashing her ring on her finger, her beautiful emerald yes emerald, cut ring set on a gold, gold.
And Are we going through my ring specs?
I'm just trying to give the visuals.
I'm trying to be considerate.
Yes, yes.
I've wanted this ring for like seven years.
Not like I've been waiting for him to give me this ring for seven years, but I've like known that I wanted this style ring.
So you've had a emerald ring, the onyx one.
Yeah, that looked really good on your finger yeah, so i feel like you.
Just i do, so we'll circle back on this.
We need to spend a lot of time on that.
Obviously, the studio changed because we moved.
The voice hugs team moved yeah, i moved, you moved.
This setup looks kind of similar, kind of different.
We have more changes coming that you'll see in the coming episodes for the rest of the season.
I feel like we've changed as humans.
I feel like both of us have separately enlightened to so many nuggets, like massive nuggets of wisdom over the past few months, of who we are, how we like to show up, the things that we like to do differently on voice hugs, and it's a lot.
But yeah, i can't wait to get into all of that and to wrap everything up, we're gonna do a how's your 2025 been?
We'll recap 2025, check in, pick up where we last left off, and then we're moving and the rest of the season we're off to the races.
Yes, we're going, we're gone, we're off.
Okay, so i think it would be fitting, as the first episode of the new season, to kind of recap what is voice hugs what, what like?
How did it start?
What was season one, season two and what's different for season three like, what are our hopes and dreams for season three, aspirations and inspirations?
Yes, and we actually had a listener from london uk, their name is way highway and mentioned would love to hear more thoughts on how you want to grow voice hugs, your values the pod stands for, if you've decided on what you would or would not pursue with the podcast, what keeps you going, and i feel like that's a really great way to just start off the season right, what is our north star?
Where do we want the season to go and how can we dream and get on this ride together with you?
Wow.
That was like 50 questions.
Well, we're ready for the 50 questions.
Season three, we're prepared.
We're prepared, baby.
In all the ways.
Yes.
Okay.
So for those of you who are tuning in for the first time, hi, welcome.
Welcome to Voice Hugs.
We're so happy to have you for our day ones.
Thank you for being here again.
We love and appreciate you.
What is Voice Hugs?
Who are we?
You know, we always get asked this and you know, you're supposed to share an elevator pitch.
Yeah.
30 seconds, right?
A voice, a podcast.
I'm becoming a breath.
Opening doors.
Opening all the doors.
Um, yeah.
So for someone who is tuning in for the first time, how would you describe voice hugs?
I feel like this is, it's so hard.
I know.
It's like whenever people are like, tell me something about yourself.
I'm like, but where do I start?
Yes.
You go.
Voice.
Me go.
I go.
Me go.
We go.
We go.
Okay.
I'll start.
Okay.
I go.
Okay.
Viv goes.
Okay.
So for those of you who are tuning in, sorry, we're giggling a lot this episode.
No need to be sorry.
That is, that is.
That is the vibe for season three.
Yes.
Yes.
Okay, so voice hugs started in the idea came to us in 2020 during the pandemic.
At the time, everyone was isolating, and this idea of loneliness versus feeling lonely was something that I think everyone was going through.
And it's like this idea where you can be in a crowded room at a party and still feel so lonely, or you could be by yourself at home and feel totally fine, right.
What was the difference between the two?
And I think both of us realized or kind of just looked into it, and it was realizing that the more that you know yourself and the more that you show up as yourself in your relationship with yourself and with other people, that's how you're able to feel known seen, understood and connected.
So that you're not, you could be alone, but you're not lonely.
Yes.
It's like loneliness stems from lack of quality connection.
Right.
Exactly.
So that was the foundation of voice hugs.
And ultimately, what we wanted to do with the podcast was to create a space that felt very warm and friendly and supportive and encouraging so that, as we are all like us and you guys if we're all on the journey of, like self-discovery, getting to know ourselves, figuring out what's true, what's not true, how to live a more authentic life,
We're all in it together.
And so that's really what we wanted to do with Voice Hugs which still is very true to us and the brand.
Well, if I was going to talk about the start of Voice Hugs, I would go back to 2011.
The fall of 2011, while we're laying on the floor in full business attire at 4 am of our friend's dorm room talking about life as we were pledging to join a business fraternity in college.
Yes, so this was like the foundation of our friendship yeah yeah, that was totally like the other part of voice hugs, do you like?
Who are we?
Why did we?
Why did we both decide to come together and start a podcast?
But i think for us, we've been friends since 20.
No, since 19, since 2010.
Wait, what?
We've been friends since we were 18 right oh yeah 18, 19.
Wait sorry, what did i?
Did i say fall of 2019?
I meant fall of 2011 okay, i said 2011.
Okay, 319.
Anyways, we've been friends for a very long time.
Friends for a long time yeah, and we've always had these types of conversations and they just kind of add on to each other.
So the on the floor at 4 am was like the first time.
The two of us were just like everyone else was sleeping.
We're just like whispering.
So what made you who you are today?
And what inspires you?
And what are your dreams and wishes?
And it's just kind of blossomed and bloomed since, which are themes that we like to take into season three, a lot more so, as viv just shared of the inception behind, or like the idea behind, voice hugs, one thing that we both reflected on.
Okay, so this is like another crazy thing that happens.
I just think there's this concept of like a force dyad, of like you're just two forces that are just meant you just gravitate towards each other like an example, like the most common example would be like a mom and her kid, right.
Like another example, it's like in star wars Anyway whatever,
That's a whole other tangent.
That's actually where I learned the term from.
But anyway, I think for us, we both realize through the seasons that especially when we take a break, when we come back, we're on the same page.
Always.
Always.
Yeah.
Like we could be at completely different.
I mean, I think we're almost always on the same page, but then like, no matter what we go through, like when we take a break, we spend some time like we're still hanging out and catching up throughout this time, but like when we come back to talk about voice hugs, we're like oh, you felt the same way.
I felt the same way.
And I think the foundation of what we kind of realized this time around was I think there's a few things.
One of them was for as much as we talk about vulnerability and for as much as we talk about it's okay to embrace every season of your life and to share your feelings and to feel your feelings.
We're both actually very um, it's hard.
Yeah, it's still hard for us to like we.
I feel like i'll speak for myself and then you can add your color to it too.
I feel like there's still a part of me that because i've been online for so long and like I don't know something about being on camera and audio and things being recorded for all of eternity.
There's this like like I just want things to be perfect or I want myself to present a certain way, when in reality I feel like every single one of you tuning in just want to hear us talk.
We don't need to filter anything.
We don't need to be afraid of going places.
We don't need to be afraid of feeling things and showing the things that we feel, because I think that is what makes us human and what makes why you guys even listen to our podcast, anyway.
So yeah, I think that was one of the biggest things that we both got feedback from our significant others.
They're like, your people want to know you.
They want to know more about you.
And I'm like, no, they're just here because of ideas.
It's because we talk about motivation and insecurities.
They're like, no, it's because of you and you just so happen to talk about those topics.
And I'm like, oh.
Yeah.
Okay.
If you were here for season one and two, a lot of the episodes started with just picking a topic.
Yes.
And then diving into that topic.
But realistically, we are not experts.
I mean...
We're not.
We're not experts in ourselves.
We're not experts in like how to get unmotivated or like how to overcome insecurities.
Right.
And I think we were kind of approaching it a little bit from that way of like trying to figure out what are some nuggets that we can share, which I think is still really important.
And I also think that is us like.
We are the type of people to want to grow and go deeper and to like not small, like to skip all the small talk.
But this season i think we want to be a lot more.
We just kind of want to show up a lot more as ourselves.
And i think what's really cool too with the different seasons is i don't know if it's because we're in our early, are we still early?
Yeah, I would consider yes.
33.
You know what?
I'm in my early 30s.
Early.
Almost mid.
Almost mid.
No, early.
Early, early, early.
Is 34 mid?
Is 34 or is 35 mid?
Let us know what you think.
I still feel like I'm 21.
Something about your early 30s.
I think both of us just so happen to, at this time in our lives, feel more.
Maybe i should speak for myself and then you could speak for yourself after that.
We're so respectful.
Yes, we are.
I feel like it's just been so much easier to live truer to myself.
And I don't know if it's because time has passed and something about entering your mid-30s.
It just feels like...
For me, not that we're old or anything, but it just feels like you don't have that much time.
Time is just… I'm always thinking about time, and so…
Yeah, I think both of us have been able to kind of experience like your changes and your role and my changes in my life and how we've come together for this new season.
And we kind of want the same things where we want to bloom, bloom into ourselves.
With you.
With you.
Actually.
Into delicate flowers.
Yes.
Delicate, but beautiful and strong and so resilient.
Yeah.
So, so resilient.
Yeah.
And I think like a tangible way that this shows up for both of us was last season we tried doing the social media thing.
But then I think I was just already burnt out from just being chronically online so that I just never looked at any DMs emails, like even Instagram stuff.
And then I feel like for you, you are going through your own thing with social media too.
I mean, for me, it was the first time that our faces were on the internet and that was very new.
Because season one was, we were in our closets.
We were- Literally.
Basically Zoom calling each other for like 55 episodes.
And the cameras were like potatoes, like shot through a potato.
It was honestly so special and intimate in its own way, but very different than talking to a camera and being in person too.
Right.
And back then reels also weren't a thing.
So it's not like our faces were really on Instagram and stuff.
Yeah.
So with that, I think there was a lot of hesitation to even just connect with you guys your DMs, your messages, your emails.
But after reflection on both of our parts, separately and then together, we're like what are we doing?
Isn't the whole point of this podcast connection exactly?
Yeah.
So whether that is through responding to your guys's comments or getting you more involved into every episode, moving forward and also creating new fun segments that we'll share more about in a second, we want to be involved in your lives and vice versa, Yeah.
And whether that is just purely through the podcast, whether that's social media, whether that's events.
Yeah.
I don't know, like maybe Voice House can go on tour.
Yeah.
It just got so bright all of a sudden, but it's okay.
The sun came out.
Because it agrees with us.
Yes.
And the sun will always come out.
Do you remember that from season two?
Yeah, I do, I do.
The sun always rises.
And the new day is always in the horizon.
Amazing.
Yeah.
So we have.
This sounds so like professional now, but we have identified three pillars that are really important to us.
And we've come up with a way for us to remember.
They are the three C's.
Which are?
Community, celebration, and creativity.
Ooh.
So if you guys resonate with any of these, that's very exciting, because that is what our North Star is going to be for season three.
I think starting off with community, of course, bringing that aspect back into our lives, I think.
Season two was trying new things and going with the flow.
And there was a little bit of resistance with connection, fear.
And just, we were both in different places.
But I think this go-around, like Ro mentioned, we definitely want to build that community again.
And so we want to hear from you.
Our email inboxes are open.
Our DMs are open.
And so, yeah, hopefully we are able to build that voice hugs community in season three.
IRL and URL.
What's U?
It's the URL, like online and offline.
Yeah, that.
I said that to Jams once and he was like, what?
What?
So online and offline.
Oh, here comes the sun again.
Here comes the sun.
Okay, the second one is... Celebration.
And I think this is very in line with voice hugs all throughout the seasons, right?
It's really about celebrating the big things, the small things, even the hard things and, And I think celebration kind of ties, at least for us a little bit with gratitude.
What can we be grateful for always?
Because there is always something that we can celebrate.
And so, yeah, in that same vein, we also want to celebrate you, right?
And so we want to hear.
I think one of the most special things about season one was being able to meet and connect with a few of you.
And I think for me, i actually follow some of our listeners and because it's been three years, so this is like you will meet a listener at, like a farmer's market, okay.
So yeah, that was one instance where like, i met a listener at a farmer's market and then we like connected, so then i took her out to coffee and it was just really sweet.
But yeah, she's an example and then just other people that might have dm'd us And so I just like continued the conversation, but back to celebration.
At that time that was three years ago.
I followed some of our listeners and throughout the years it's been so cool because I've been able to see you guys like, graduate from college, move to a different state, go through heartbreak, go through entering like a new relationship.
And I think I don't know, that's so cool.
That's how I feel about my friends, right?
Like when I get to see them thrive.
And then also when I see them go through hard times, like being there sending them a message and whatnot.
And so yeah, I think being able to do more of that celebrating each other and celebrating you is another theme we would like to hold.
Embody.
Yeah.
And also celebrating us for who we are as people, so that we can show up as ourselves unapologetically.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Love it.
And then last pillar.
Last but not least, creativity.
I think that like creativity is just so fun for both of us.
And I think in general, everyone is creative.
Really like infusing the podcast with creativity.
This season is going to make it so much more fun for us and hopefully, for everyone tuning in as well.
Just even setting up the studio even though we just have like a few different lights, it feels so it tickled a part of our brain that hasn't been tickled.
And then for the past few weeks, so we've been meeting every single week for a few, like many months now.
We had full-on photo shoots for like the past two weeks, or like content creating sessions, and it's so cute.
Hopefully by the time this video goes up, you're you can already see some of them.
But we looked at each other.
We're like, oh my god, this is so fun.
It could have been this fun since the beginning.
Granted, we were in the same city.
We're in a very different headspace and we're not shaming ourselves for it taking literally five years, three years, four years.
We have no photos together.
No.
Yeah.
It took us so long to get here, but I think it just goes to show that...
That there are seasons in our life and things will come so naturally when they're meant to.
And I think, as we've just been sharing everything for season three, everything that we've ever wanted even before this season, the things that we wanted moving into this season, they all just kind of fell into peace so naturally and so organically.
And I feel like maybe in season one and two there were hesitations or resistance from for like, personal reasons right, or like for different reasons, but we both, I think, had some reservations.
But I think by this season we're both just like let's go, we're ready.
Yeah, I think that's like the thing that we both underline a thousand times, like let's just have fun, and then let that show through the content that we create.
Because I think something I realized too is like oh, it's is so serious and everything needs to be done a certain way, and then we need to say things perfectly and we need to deliver it, but it's like no, we don't have to.
Life is meant to be lived, life is meant to be filled with laughter and giggles and human connection and yeah, I think that sums up our hopes and dreams.
And I think if, like when you first asked me to go in the beginning when we were talking about this section, I was like well, what is voice hugs to me?
Voice hugs to me really is just like a cozy corner on the interwebs for us to be able to hang out connect, share stories with each other.
And I think the there's like this weird thing that happens when you're online for a little bit, like as an online i don't even know what to call myself.
I think i'm like late stage influence, i don't even know.
Like you know the the, the curve of like the early adult.
Anyway, i'm like late, late stage, um.
And then I was actually just thinking about this a lot, where I think in the next couple of years there'll be research done on people who document their lives and share it online and like the adverse effect it has on you.
Because it took me like two, three years of not posting as consistently to finally get to a place where I'm like oh yeah.
Yeah, just my life.
I don't have to film myself every time i do something, like if i'm decluttering the home, i can just declutter.
But like every time i'm like, oh my god, this would be such a good before and after photo that i can post on instagram, but like no life is meant to be lived and this was going somewhere, this was going.
Okay, it's still going.
This was going somewhere.
We are there okay, This is also a new thing that's been happening to me, that you know.
But just to let you guys in
Ever since I gave birth, I feel like a part of my brain just shut off.
No, i mean, they're like it's normal.
Yeah, your brain completely changes.
Yes, like gray matter.
Every like everything changed and you don't recover until like two years after i heard yeah, and then, especially if you're breastfeeding, which i still am um, it takes even.
Like you lose like five or ten percent of your memory.
I think it was five percent, which is a lot, like you know, five percent isn't a lot, but like it's like i go to places with james and he's like, oh my god, remember we came here.
I'm like no, And he's offended.
And then I'm shocked because I used to pride myself on my.
Yeah.
It's like, babe.
That's so much to me.
Yeah.
But yeah, I prided myself so much on having like the sharpest memory of like I just know everything.
Anyway, there is a reason why I said all of this, but it'll come back.
Let that be the theme of the season, where not every statement or story needs to wrap up with a beautiful little bow.
No.
Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for listening.
I'm so... There's sweat dripping down my... I feel shiny.
My armpit.
Let's all drink a glass of water.
Let's all take a sip of water.
I almost spit it out.
So let's do a quick recap of 2025.
Yeah oh, we can take our time.
Speaking of segments yes, speaking of segments, let's first share a little bit about the segments.
Oh yeah, okay.
So um, something we wanted to we are going to introduce in season three are segments that we have come up with for each episode.
We are and we're both on our phone because we're pulling the thing up because, as i just mentioned, my mind is i just don't remember things anymore okay, so we came up with a few new segments that i'm actually so excited to do because i think they're going to be really fun for for everyone involved.
Yeah, It's just going to be a lot more fun.
And then this is also a shout out to our significant others, because they're like you guys should look into trying to do segments.
All the podcasts we listen to, it's so fun.
Every episode can have different segments, but then it'll all be rotating.
And it's exciting to not know what the next episode is going to have.
What's also really interesting is both of our partners are actors.
Huge podcast listeners.
Like they listen… Rory listens to podcasts like all day long.
Like he… Yeah.
And we actually don't listen to that many right, do you i only, if i do, it's like the tin ferris or diary of a ceo.
That's why our guests from last season was like so tell us about your life story and like your businesses which, to be fair, it's like what i genuinely enjoy asking our friends about.
But we read your comments.
We saw your comments where you're like we would just love to hear you girls talk about nothing and everything.
And we're like okay, we can do that.
Yeah, so that's partly why like, these segments have been imaginated into it.
That that's why we're gonna add these new yes okay, okay.
So the first one is um, it's kind of like an inner weather report where we start off each, each episode with How we doing.
How we feeling?
Except we are pulling a theme or category out of the this feeling jar.
Can you see?
We're showing the camera.
OK, it's not zooming in, but it's a, it's a jar from, if you, if any of you are into like design or illustration, it's from an illustrator called Adam JK.
Adam J. Kurtz.
Yeah, is he like illustrator, designer?
Anyway, and then I just love this feelings jar so much.
It's so cute.
We asked you on Instagram for different categories and themes.
Yes.
So essentially, we're going to pick one out.
We have no idea what's in here.
Yes.
And we're going to describe our week or our day.
Yeah.
Using that category.
Yes.
Yeah.
We just thought it's like a fun, fun way to be like how you doing yeah, you know.
And then i think these are one of the things that will be funnier when we actually do it.
Yeah, talking about it's like not as fun.
So let's just we'll come back to this.
We'll come back to this, okay.
Another one is hugs hotline hotline.
All right yeah, hugs hotline is gonna be.
You submit questions and advice requests to us and we will answer them during the hugs hotline segment.
Yes, so by the time this episode goes up, we will have how to do it in the description, because i think ideally, we would have you guys call in and record a voicemail.
That'd be awesome, But we have to figure out the mechanics.
I think we can do it.
I think we can figure it out.
But it'll be in the description.
So pop that open and check it out.
Or just email us as you all have been.
Or you can leave comments on Spotify too.
And you can ask us anything.
Anything.
Anything.
Anything.
Nothing is off limits.
In case that wasn't clear.
Anything.
Yeah.
And we're here for you.
And then there's the weekly hug, where we're gonna shout out one of y'all for just being awesome, whether it's through things that you've dm'd us and that you've commented.
Just be like hey, we see you, and then add some color to it if needed.
Yeah, i know, and we receive a lot of very, very heartwarming sweet things, so we're excited to share that with everyone else.
And the last thing is pass the hugs.
Yas.
This is something that we're both very, very excited about.
Yes.
Which is through the same mechanism where you can call in and ask us questions.
You can also call in and leave a, like a nugget of wisdom, words of advice.
A nugget of wisdom?
A nugget.
Sorry.
A nugget of wisdom.
I was like, nugget of wisdom?
No.
Positive.
A nugget of wisdom.
Positive.
This reminds me of, like those radio talk, like those radio shows where it's like hi, i'm ben and i'm calling in because i want to tell my wife monique, how much i love her.
Can you dedicate this song and then exactly, insert song?
Yeah, so we want to pass your hugs to more people around the world.
Yeah, so then that will also be like a part in this segment and we'll probably, you know, play it, talk about it.
Yeah, read it.
It'll be good times yeah.
So that's what we have right now.
But if you have any ideas suggestions, feedback for different segments that we can do or that you want to hear from us i'm just waving this jar around just let us know.
You might see your idea in our episode.
Yeah, Okay.
Are you ready?
Yeah.
Okay.
So we're picking from the feelings jar and we're going to use it to this.
Oh, that one chose us.
Rowena was waving the feelings jar and a piece of paper flew out.
Do we want to do that?
Or do you want to choose one?
No, this one chose us.
I wanted to give you free will.
This one chose us.
Okay.
Okay.
So we're going to use this to describe our 2025.
Okay.
Carrie.
Oh, what?
Show it.
Karaoke song.
Yoink.
Karaoke song.
Okay.
Do you like this one?
Do you like karaoke?
The thing is.
I hate karaoke.
My nose always bleeds when I go KTV.
What wow, your body's rejecting it.
It is like i think it's just like you get so into it and you're just screaming and singing and it's a good time.
No, but then, like i think i'm ready, i run dry and then that like so, like i can do other things when i'm fine i can do sports, i can work out and i'm fine but when i go ktv my nose just always bleeds.
Um, I didn't know that.
It's a sign from the gods.
No karaoke for you.
So basically, song of the year.
Okay, how would you describe your year in song?
Let me think.
I need a moment.
You don't even listen to music. oh bumblebee the the um the flight of the bumblebee is that a classic yes yes that's either a classical song or it's like a baby song that your baby is listening to it is oh or oh oh i was thinking like chaos he's like um is that what 2025 felt like that's funny okay continue continue i'm a good one okay nostalgia by joe hisaishi the composer for all of or most of miyazaki's films um um this is i think his own composition like it's not a part of any movie but it is the one song that we've played every time potato would take a bath so every time he took a bath we would play this or like we we would end his bath with this song so that he knows like oh it's time to like wind down get out of the bath go to sleep and it's so beautiful it's so precious i added it at the end for the nine months with potato video you guys want to take a look if you haven't already yeah i think the the past nine months i'm just closing my eyes to remember because i don't remember they were very beautiful they were challenging no no It's like, I just, I feel like a completely different person than who I was at the finale of last season.
So let's just say that.
I think it's just okay.
Motherhood, like the act of birthing a child and becoming a mother is so magical and beautiful.
And there's so much like ups and downs learning curves.
You're relearning everything that you thought you knew about yourself.
Your brain is changing.
Like, I feel like I'm simultaneously so present with my kid, but also simultaneously so not present.
Like when I go out and then, you know, I'm at a restaurant and I was like making eye contact with, you know, people like the hostess, the people that I see, I'm smiling, I'm present with other people and with my surroundings and I'm smiling saying thank you, blah, blah, blah, just like being who i am but now it's like when i go out like i'm locked in on my kid right which i think it's on one hand like so beautiful but on the other hand it's just and like i know this is just a season i know it's not going to be like this forever so i'm not like giving myself a hard time or anything but it's just so interesting to see that two such extreme things can exist at the same time like i'm like so present but then also so not present I'm just realizing right now that I haven't really gone to hear the ins and outs of your experience as mother.
As mother.
As mother.
As mother Rowena.
As mother.
No, you're like, you're the ins and outs of like the ups and downs of motherhood.
Because I think, yeah, we just haven't really gone like, We don't even have time to catch up.
Like when you come over, we just, we like catch up.
But then I need to go feed him.
I need to, you know, like take him.
I feel like sometimes, like when you leave, I'm like James you spend more time catching up with my friend than I do.
It's tough.
It's tough.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But no, I I'm like really excited to hear about it, because I do feel like, even though, like you haven't changed in my eyes, I feel like you're in a new role and it really suits you.
Thanks.
Yeah, I think this role suits you very well.
I think it'll suit you very well, too.
I'm excited.
Yeah.
She's not pregnant yet.
No, I'm not.
I'm just putting that out there.
Hold this little guy.
No one hold your breath.
We're not there yet.
Not there yet.
Not there yet.
I don't know why this song is coming to the forefront of my head.
I really don't know.
Baby.
Justin Bieber, baby.
You know okay yes, yes and yes, and yes and no.
But the song that's coming to me is isn't she lovely?
By stevie wonder, which is really crazy, because when i think of isn't she lovely, it's a song that he wrote for his daughter, i think.
Actually, don't quote me on that, i wouldn't know.
I think about that song as a song for your daughter.
I think he wrote it for his daughter, but I'm not sure.
Anyways, but I don't have a daughter.
But I think in some ways...
Anyway, but you were carrying all your children, which is the crazy thing.
Our eggs, it's all our children, our future children.
Anyway, that's two.
I'm reading a book right now.
It's like, oh my God, it's so crazy.
All of our eggs already exist within us.
Yeah, and then we also existed when our grandmas were pregnant with our mothers.
Okay, this is something that Chris kardashian was trying to say on an episode of keeping up with the kardashians.
Yes, and i was really confused, and i think her kids were also really confused.
But anyways okay, let's rewind really quick.
I am not pregnant, i am not with child.
I don't have a baby.
Like it's not.
She has baby fever.
I have baby fever and i've had baby fever since i was five, like we all know this.
But the idea of a baby is very front and like prominent especially, i think, because we're just like of the age where you have to kind of plan for that, because unfortunately we do have a biological clock blah blah blah, blah blah, and so this year was a lot of me thinking about that.
And so isn't she lovely.
I really don't know why that song came to mind, but in some ways i feel like and i think we talked about this last season too where, when you become a mom, i imagine, i imagine that there's this protectiveness and like this nurturingness that you feel towards your child.
And I think before, when Baby Potato wasn't born yet, and we would talk about these things.
It's like imagine if you just gave that love to yourself and how hard it is right.
But how much easier it is to do it with a baby.
Also, I don't know if everyone feels that way.
So I won't speak for everyone, because I think I heard somewhere that maternal instinct isn't even a thing, even though I think I thought it was.
I think it's it's some people have it and some people don't.
Yeah, I think it's for sure a thing.
Yeah.
But it just depends on like your hormones and upbringing, nature, nurture, all of that.
Yeah.
I feel like, even without a being yet I think, because I'm preparing for it, there was so much that I did for myself to prepare for that next chapter.
And I know, maybe Isn't She Lovely is actually about me, and aren't I lovely?
You are!
No, and then Baby Too by Justin Bieber.
It's funny because I really want to see Justin Bieber live.
He's going to be at Coachella and viv's gonna be at coachella, where maybe she's gonna be pregnant.
Yeah, so that is my song.
Wait, that is so sweet.
Yeah, and that was kind of like a recap of our 2025 too.
Yeah, i love it and we're obviously going to dive deeper into many.
Oh wait, we need to talk about your engagement, or just the fact that you're engaged, i'm engaged, viv is engaged.
The end Tune in for episode two.
We can save it for another episode.
But yes, I have so many thoughts about preparing for or like entering the season of marriage.
Oh, you know, like wedding planning, there is so much that comes up for everyone involved everyone yeah, your mother, your father yourself, your partner, your in-laws.
Social media, social media.
Oh my god, viv is so done.
If i see more wedding content on instagram, i mean it is what it is but, like I have thought about blocking people.
She's like, I'm so done with wedding content.
Yeah, no, I don't know.
Okay, yeah, I'll save my thoughts for another day if I even decide to share my thoughts on that.
Just to add to that, when I was talking all about like I just want to live my life, I was actually showering one day and it came to my mind.
It's like, I no longer want to monetize my life.
I just want to live my life.
So then I think that could go aligned with what you just thought.
But we'll come back to that on another episode.
No i i, i mean, i don't monetize my life, but i, i think i would feel the same way.
Yeah yeah, introducing also to the camera this is a capybara with a bread toast around his neck like a scarf.
I got it from korea this year and he will be our little friend.
What's his name?
Bang bang, which means bread, which means, i think, bread in korean did rory name, i think.
Maybe his sister did.
Oh yeah, but who is who's?
Who is korean?
Yeah, who's korean?
Yeah wow, amazing.
