Now today's podcast has an interesting word, it is bruhaha, bruhaha, B -R -O -U -H -A -H -A and the pronunciation again, Bruhaha, Bruhaha, now what does this interesting word mean?
Well, if you check the dictionary, it will say maybe excitement or confusion or maybe turmoil, but actually a very common meaning for brouhaha is a fight.
There was a fight. So there was a big brouhaha means, there was a big fight.
So, this is actually a very common expression in sports, so you can talk about a baseball brew ha ha or a football brew ha ha or there was a brew ha ha at the bar last night.
There was a big fight.
Have you ever been in a brew ha ha?
I hope not. If you were, I hope you won.
let's check out a dialogue did you stay till the end of the game no I left at halftime you're lucky a huge brew Ha ha broke out were you okay I barely escaped oh that sounds scary so the two guys went to a game maybe it was a baseball game I don't know but the one guy left at halftime so at halftime maybe it was soccer game or football game or a basketball game, he left. But after he left, there was a huge brouhaha.
A brouhaha broke out.
Here's another phrasal verb, and to break out means started in this case.
A brouhaha broke out.
But the guy was lucky.
He escaped which means he didn't get hurt.
He was a lucky guy.
Yeah, brouhaha's can be pretty scary.
One time I was walking in the city of Seoul, South Korea.
It was at night, maybe ten, ten thirty, and suddenly, as I was walking down the street, a huge brouhaha broke out.
There was a big fight and people came out onto the street and they were fighting.
I even saw broken beer bottles.
Well, what did I do?
I ran away, and I was scared.
I did not want to be involved in a big brew -ha -ha, and I hope you are never involved in a big brew -ha -ha either.
Sometimes watching a brew -ha -ha on TV is kinda fun, as long as nobody gets seriously hurt.
Okay, so once again, today's word is brouhaha, B -R -O -U -H -A -H -A, and the common meaning of the word is a fight, and we usually say there was a big brouhaha.
Got it? You guys listen to the dialogue two more times and I'm out of here!
Did you stay till the end of the game?
No, I left at half time.
You're lucky a huge brew ha ha broke out were you okay, I barely escaped Did you stay till the end of the game?
No I left at halftime You're lucky a huge brew ha ha broke out.
Were you okay? I barely escaped There you go, thank you so much everybody for listening to this podcast and downloading it I sincerely appreciate it Uh, what is this?
