Hello, everybody. My name is Coach Shane and welcome to Easy English Expressions.
Come on, let's master English.
Hello everybody. Welcome back to daily Easy English Expressions the Bud Guest.
This is number 961 and the expression is move up and I'm going to give you two definitions and it's perfect because I just got an email about two days ago from one of my students in China.
His name is Tom. Tom does not sound very Chinese, but I'm assuming it's his English name.
I love it, Tom. Tom, congratulations.
Tom recently got a promotion.
Tom works at an engineering company in...
Oh my god, I forgot the city.
It's in South Dakota.
Anyway, he's at an engineering big company in South Dakota and he was promoted and he didn't think it would happen, but it did happen.
And number one, because of his skill, he's a very smart guy.
Number two, because of his English.
His English over the past year has improved, his speaking specifically, has improved so much.
His pronunciation has gotten much better and Tom sent me a letter thanking me for my classes.
Tom is a VIP member in both DDM and perf, so he's got a family, he's got a full -time job in America, so different culture, different language, and he's studying both of my classes every week, so Tom has been working extremely hard.
Congratulations, Tom, for moving up in your company.
Tom got a promotion.
He was at one level and now he's at a higher level.
He moved up. He got a promotion and that's one of the definitions, obviously, of moving up.
Another definition is simple.
Going from, for example, the first floor to the second floor.
When I buy a new house, I'm going to move up to the second floor.
I don't want to be on the first floor.
This is the idea. Your bedroom was on the first floor, but you're moving up to the second floor, so that's a simple idea of moving up, but the more important one is when it comes to getting a promotion.
Like Tom, master your English and I'm telling you, things are going to happen for you.
You're going to be moving up in the world, that's for sure.
Check out the dialogue.
Oh, you know what? The dialogue has the word, has the name Ron in there, but I think I'm going to change it to Tom just for you guys.
Check out the dialogue and I'll be right back.
Hey, Tom, second floor?
Nope. I'm on the third floor now.
A promotion. You're moving up.
Yeah, thanks. So I guess these two guys met on the elevator and the one guy was pushing the buttons, you know, first floor, second floor, third floor.
So he says, hey, Tom, or Ron as it's written here, second floor.
Are you going to the second floor?
Nope. I'm on the third floor now.
Oh, a promotion. He's moving up, literally, up to the third floor.
And figuratively, he got a promotion.
So once again, and in all seriousness, congratulations to Tom, we've had so many students tell me about their success in school and work, in business regarding their improvements in English and how it helped them move up in the world.
So that's really great.
And we got a great chance right now, if you're listening to this podcast, live or around the production date, and I'm producing this on April 28, 2020, we have we've extended the COVID -19 virus sale.
And this is just causing so many problems.
And I know, especially for example, our VIP classes, a lot of students ask me Oh, when's the next sale?
When's the next sale?
We don't have another sale, until I think we have a yearly sale, a yearly membership sale in June or July, something like that.
But for like the monthly or quarterly, we don't have a sale until October.
However, we do now because of the bad COVID -19.
And you can join DDM VIP or perf VIP at a great discount.
A three month membership is $125.
And that's basically, you're paying for two months and getting three months.
So you get all the lessons, all the live classes, and it's your choice, you can choose either DDM or perf.
Now, some of you actually have said you wanted to join both.
I recommend starting with one and then trying another one, and then making that decision.
Because these lessons will keep you busy.
So if you're like Tom, and you're really determined, and you're really hungry, to master English and move up, then send me an email.
Okay, send me an email daily dictation members at gmail .com send me an email saying, hey, hey, coach, yo, I would be very interested in joining both DDM VIP and perf VIP.
And then I'll talk with you.
I'll talk with you.
I don't like people just joining it.
You know, I'm a terrible salesman, right?
So anyway, if you want to join our DDM VIP or perf VIP, go to our website, www .letsmasterenglish .com.
And there's a promo code box.
All you do is type stay home VIP.
One word, one word.
s t a y h o m e v ip.
I think you need to type small letters.
I'm not sure big letters work.
Just make sure you type small letters.
It'll work. And that's for VIP.
We also have weekly, and you can join weekly, same type of deal.
I can't remember what the cost is, but it's a very good price for DDM weekly or perf weekly.
It's a great program.
If you're completely new to me and to my lessons, I absolutely recommend you join DDM weekly or perf weekly.
And the promo code is stay home weekly.
All right, it's one word.
No spaces s t a y h o m e w e e k l y.
Just do that. You can see the price.
And we're extending it.
We're extending it.
I don't know how long, you know, a couple more weeks because of the COVID -19.
Just horrible situation.
I'll extend it at least until May 15, at least until May 15.
All right. So yeah, join us.
I'd love to see you in class.
And I'd like I'd love to help you master English.
All right, guys, move up to get a promotion to advance, to do better to to get into a higher position.
That's the idea of to move up.
It's a great phrase of verb.
Check out the dialogue two more times.
And together, let's master English.
Hey, Tom. Second floor?
Nope. I'm on the third floor now.
A promotion. You're moving up.
Yeah, thanks. Hey, Tom.
Second floor? Nope.

A promotion. You're moving up.
Yeah, thanks.
