So I'm pretty excited.
I hope if you have a chance to watch me live, join, ask questions, have some fun.
Okay, today's expression is iffy iffy Mmm, great expression I F F Y Will it rain today?
I would say it's iffy it Might Rain, I'm not sure right now the sky is cloudy But the clouds don't seem like rain clouds but you know things could change.
It might rain later today.
Right now it's iffy.
So a better situation maybe.
Should we have a picnic this weekend?
Ooh I don't know. I think that's iffy.
Because the weatherman says it might rain this weekend.
So if it rains we don't want to have a picnic.
So should we have a picnic boy?
I can't say yes or no, it's iffy IFF why if something is unsure if you're not sure about something if It's okay, then yes, if it's not okay, then no this is the idea if if if You cannot make a decision because you're not sure the situation is iffy You can't say yes You can't say no.
It's iffy. Mmm, the situation is iffy.
Check out the dialogue.
You coming over, Friday?
Mmm, it's iffy. Why?
Work? No, football.
How big's your TV? Okay, so this one guy is inviting his friend over to his house on Friday.
Are you coming over?
it's iffy. You know, yes, no, I don't know.
It depends on the situation.
Why, why? What's, what's wrong?
Work? Is it a work problem?
No, no, no. Not work, it's football.
How big is your TV?
Aha. If your TV is very big then I will go to your house so we can watch football.
If your TV is very small then I will not go to your house.
Mmm hmm. That's not nice.
Do you have a friend based on his television size?
Some people might do that.
You know if somebody has a really huge TV many times that person has many, many friends.
If they have, I don't know, Nintendo, or Xbox, or whatever those games are and they have millions of games, those people might have lots of friends.
If somebody has a swimming pool, they might have lots of friends.
If they didn't have a swimming pool they might not have friends.
So, I'm having a dinner party on Saturday.
Are you coming? Oh?
It's iffy. Oh, why are you busy no it depends on who's cooking are you cooking or your wife is cooking oh?
Well, I'm cooking. Oh well, then no I'm not going you are a terrible cook Now your wife is a great cook if your wife.
We're cooking then I would go Do you understand it's iffy it depends on the situation?
If it rains or if it doesn't rain on who's cooking on how big your TV is if it's a big TV Yes, I'll go if it's a small TV, no, thanks It's a great expression So I'll give you one more example.
