Hello I'm glad we're together again We got Zach on the keys Katie singing la la la la, we'll have some fun and our imaginations go on adventures again and again.

This is Imagination Time. I'm Katie, and Zach is here too.
Hello, hello. Zach is playing the piano.
You know, I don't think imagination time would be quite the same without your piano playing Zach.
It's an important part, and we couldn't do it without you.
Aw, thanks, Katie. You're welcome. I think everyone has their own part they can do to help make something special.
Like all our friends out there listening?
That's you friends! Your special part when you listen to imagination time. is using your amazing imaginations.
And today, we are going to use our amazing imaginations to imagine the many ways we can do our part in our community.
Doing our part means helping in any way we can, big or small.
We'll have to clear some space in our minds first.
So let's take a deep breath and relax our bodies.
Are you ready, Zach? Ready, Katie. In one, two, three, hold it Out three, two, one One of the ways we can do our part is to pay attention to the things around us, to the sounds we hear, the things we see. and how our bodies are feeling.
Let's see if we can pay attention to how our bodies are feeling from the top of our heads down to the tips of our toes.
Let's take another deep breath and we'll really relax all the muscles in our body.
In one, two, three, hold it Out three, two, one Now we're ready to do our part!
You learn new things every day You have always been a star And you can be a helping hand No matter who you are You can do your part!
You can do your part It doesn't matter how small you are You can do your part.
Let's do our part. Let's imagine we're walking down the street in our neighborhood.
Look around in your mind and see what you can see.
I imagine I see my neighbor's house. I can see the sidewalk stretched out ahead.
I hear the birds chirping. And I can hear friends playing.
I imagine I can see a playground. Oh yes!
A playground with swings and a slide? It looks like so much fun!
Oh, but I imagine I see a friend who doesn't look like they're having much fun.
They look really sad. Let's go see what's wrong.
Oh, they can't find their favorite teddy bear.
It's gone missing at the playground. That would make me feel sad too.
What can we do? Let's take a look around and see if we can find it.
Look around, look around Look around and see what can be found.
Let's look under the slide. Do you see it in your mind?
Hmm. Not there. Maybe it's by the swings.
I don't see it there either. I imagine. I see it under a bench.
Oh! Can you see the teddy bear too? I imagine it's lying on the ground under the bench.
It kind of looks like the teddy bear is playing hide and seek.
We found you, teddy bear! I love my teddy bear.
Let's bring it back to our friend. This will make them feel much better.
We need to be to help someone in need We can do our part We can do our part It feels nice to help someone, doesn't it?
I know there are other ways we can do our part too.
Let's see. Let's imagine... a big grassy park with a garden where flowers can grow.
Do you have a place like that in your neighborhood?
I imagine I can see it, right next to the playground.
I also imagine that I smell something too.
It's stinky! Can you imagine a stinky smell?
It smells like garbage. Oh boy. I think you're right, Zach.
I imagine I can see pieces of garbage littered all over the park, covering the grass.
There shouldn't be stinky garbage in the park.
How can the flowers grow if there's garbage everywhere?
Well, it might not be our garbage, but we can do our part to help clean up the park.
Let's pretend to have a community cleanup.
That's a great idea! A community cleanup is when people from the neighborhood pick up garbage that has been left on the ground.
It's important to get permission from a grownup before we pick up anything.
But if we have the right tools, a community cleanup is a great place to help.
Getting ready, ready, ready, ready, ready, ready, ready, ready, ready, ready, ready, ready, ready to clean.
Get a trash bag. Put on rubber gloves. Maybe you can even imagine a garbage grabber.
It's a long stick that helps pick up garbage.
Fancy. Now we're ready, ready, ready, we're ready, ready, ready to clean the park.
Let's imagine picking up the pieces of garbage and putting them into the trash bag.
We'll have this part cleaned up in no time.
Clean up, clean up Everybody let's clean up Clean up, clean up Throw the trash away I imagine the park looks so much better.
I can see the green grass. And now there's lots of room for the beautiful flowers to bloom.
And it smells much nicer, too. Great work, friends.
That was a big help. We can do our part We can do our part Some grown-ups have jobs that help too, like teachers and firefighters.
The people who do those kind of jobs are called community helpers.
They help make our neighborhoods a nice place to live.
Can you imagine a fire station? Maybe you have one in your neighborhood.
Can you see it in your mind? I imagine it has a big red door.
With a fire truck outside. And the firefighters are there too.
They're waiting in case someone needs their help.
Waiting, waiting their patient as they're waiting That means there's an emergency somewhere in the neighborhood.
Now the firefighters are in a hurry. They have to get their fast to help.
I imagine they run onto the fire truck and turn on the siren and speed down the street.
There they go! I wish I could help like the firefighters do.
They do have an important job. We could always imagine we're firefighters saving the day, but maybe we should save that for another imagination time.
How can we do our part this time? Think in a thought.
I'm thinking a lot We need an idea Let's work with what we've got There's always a way we can do our part.
I know! We can say thank you in a special way.
We can make a card with pictures and lots of hearts.
I think that will make the firefighters feel really happy.
And that's a great way we can help. I'm making a card for the firefighters.

We can do our part It doesn't matter how old, how small How young, how tall it doesn't matter how fast How strong you can't go wrong when we lend a hair And do all that we can We can do our part All these things are really fun to imagine, but it's also fun to do them too.
There are lots of ways we can help out and do our part. you might like to try doing some of these things in your neighborhood, too.
