It's imagination time with Katie. Hi! Thanks for listening to Super Simple Imagination Time with Katie!
This episode is inspired by the super simple song, Walking in the Forest.
We hope you like it. It's good to be with you, my friend.
Hello, hello. I'm glad we're together again.
We got Zack on the keys. Katie singing la la la la we'll have some fun in our imagination go on adventures again and again hello Hello, it's good to be with you my friend Hello, hello, and welcome to Imagination Time.
I'm Katie and we have Zach here too. Hello, hello.
Zach is going to play the piano. Well, I take us on an imagination adventure to visit the forest.
A forest is a beautiful place with lots of trees.
In the summer, it's green and full of life.
Lots of different animals live in the forest, too.
And lots of super small bugs and critters.
We might see some on our journey, but...
I'm not afraid. Before we start our imagination adventure in the forest, let's take a few minutes to get into our imagination.
That's where this beautiful forest is in our minds.
So let's close our eyes and relax our bodies so we can really pretend we're there.
Ready Zach? Ready Katie? Are you ready friends?
Let's take a deep breath all together. In one, two, three, hold it Out three, two, one I can imagine I smell the fresh forest air.
We might hear some interesting sounds in the forest too.
Right now I can hear Zach playing the piano.
And I imagine I feel a forest breeze gently passing from the top of my head down to my toes.
Let's take another deep breath of the fresh air.
In one, two, three, hold it. Out three, two, one.
Now, let's go to the forest. Walking in the forest, walking in the forest We're not afraid, we're not afraid We're taking our first steps into the forest.
Everything is so green. Let's pretend to look up.
What do you see? I can imagine green leaves hanging off long branches way up high in the sky.
The sun is sparkling through the leaves, and I can see just a bit of the blue sky through the branches.
It looks very beautiful. Let's walk a little further.
Walking in the forest, walking in the forest We're not afraid, we're not afraid Let's listen to the sounds in the forest What do you hear?
Maybe you can hear the sound of the ground beneath your feet as you walk.
Or the wrestling of the leaves as they move in the breeze?
Did you hear that sound? It's a bird! What a beautiful sound.
And I can see the bird sitting up there on a branch in the tree.
I imagine the bird is bright red. What color is the bird you see in your mind?
I see a brown bird with a red tummy. Ooh, that's a robin.
Maybe you're imagining a blue bird. or a bird with fluffy feathers.
It can be anything when you're imagining anything you want to see Imagine with me.
Let's imagine we can talk to the bird. What are you saying?
I'm saying hello bird. Tweet tweet. Okay birdie, we'll see you later.
We're gonna keep on walking. Walking in the forest, walking in the forest We're not afraid, we're not afraid Did you hear that?
What could that be? Hmm, I wonder where it's coming from.
Let's take a look around and see if we can find it.
Look around, look around Look around and see what can be found Let's take a look Oh!
It's a squirrel! I can see it at the bottom of a tree eating an acorn.
Can you see it in your mind? Squirrels love acorns.
And this squirrel has a big one right in its mouth.
Oh, now it's climbing up the tree with it.
There it goes! Squirrels are excellent tree climbers, aren't they?
Hey! Let's pretend to be a squirrel and then we can climb up the tree all the way to the tippy top.
Let's pretend we have a big bushy tail and four paws with sharp claws that will help us climb.
Are you ready to climb squirrels? That's squirrel for ready.
Okay, let's go up the tree. We can grip with our claws and use our strong legs to run up.
The squirrels climbed up the big tree The squirrels climbed up the big tree The squirrels climbed up the big tree To see what they could see But can you see little squirrels?
Wow, the forest looks a lot different up here, doesn't it?
We can see the tops of all the trees. Kinda looks like the tops of green clouds.
We can see the whole forest. It looks like there's a lot more to explore.
Let's pretend to be people again. And we can keep going on our walk.
Come on! Walking in the forest, walking in the forest We're not afraid, we're not afraid Stop!
Wait. I thought I saw something move in the trees way over there.
It's a bit hard to see. But yes, I see it.
It's a deer! I don't see it. The deer is camouflaged.
That means it blends in with its surroundings.
Deer are brown like the trunks of the trees, so it can be tricky to see.
But let's stay still and keep looking. You might see it when it moves.
I still don't see it. Keep on looking, Zach.
When you wanna give up, try again Keep on looking, keep on looking Ah, I see it now.
There's a baby deer too. Oh wow, there is!
A baby deer is called a fun. Can you see them in your mind?
So special. Let's not disturb them. We can look for a bit.
And now let's keep going. Slowly this time.
Walking in the forest, walking in the forest We're not afraid, we're not afraid I love taking deep breaths of fresh air while walking in the forest.
There can be lots of interesting smells.
Let's take a deep breath altogether. In one, two, three, hold it.
Out three, two, one. Ooh, what do you imagine you smell?
Maybe the air smells a little sweet like wildflowers.
Or maybe it smells like it just rained. Sometimes you can smell the different trees, like pine trees or cedar.
Uh oh, is that? I think it's a skunk right up there in the middle of the path.
A skunk is a black and white animal that looks very cute, but if they get scared, they can spray a stinky smell into the air.
Pew! That's one forest smell we don't want to take a deep breath of.
Should we run? First, let's back away slowly.
Imagine yourself taking three steps back.
One step, two steps, three steps back. Now let's run!
Running in the forest, running in the forest We're not afraid, we're not afraid I'm glad we left that skunk alone.
I wasn't that afraid though. Our imagination adventure is almost done for today, so let's take these last few steps out of the forest.
Walking in the forest, walking in the forest We're not afraid, we're not afraid He made it.
That was an exciting walk in the forest.
I've always wondered what it would be like to be a squirrel.
It was really fun to imagine. We'll see you again soon for more imagination time.
Goodbye, goodbye. Our time has come to an end.
Goodbye for now. Until we're together again A big goodbye from Zach Goodbye!
