Welcome to Imagination Time! I'm Katie, and we got Zack here too.
Hello, hello. Zack is making that music we hear on the piano.
Today, we're going on an imagination adventure to explore the stars.
Way up beyond the blue sky above is outer space, where there are billions of stars.
We can only see a few of them from Earth.
But if we use our imagination, we can see everything.
So let's take some time now to get into our imagination.
We can relax our bodies with some deep breaths and clear our minds so we can fit the whole universe inside.
Ready, Zach? Ready, Katie? Are you ready, friends?
Great. Let's take a deep breath. In one, two, three, hold it Out three, two, one Let's take a moment to listen to the sounds around us.
Zach's piano twinkles. Like a twinkling star.
Let's twinkle our fingers and twinkle our toes.
And imagine a twinkling star sprinkling stardust from our head down to our toes.
Close your eyes and take one more big breath.
In one, two, three, hold it. Out three two one.
We're ready. Twinkle, twinkle little star How I wonder what you are Up above the world so high Like a diamond in the sky Twinkle, twinkle little star How I wonder what You are.
Let's pretend to look up into the night sky.
What do you see? I see stars, hundreds of them shining brightly.
Can you see them in your mind? They're just little dots of light.
But together, they light up the whole sky.
It's really beautiful, although stars twinkling together.
I imagine I can see a shooting star. A bright light zooming super fast from one side of the sky to the other.
Can you imagine a shooting star zooming across the big sky?
Shooting stars are really special. Some say that you can make a wish on a special star like that.
Let's make a wish, Katie. Okay, let's make a wish.
You can make a wish too, and you don't have to tell anyone what you wish for.
You can make a wish just for yourself. Starlight, star bright First star I see tonight Wish I may, wish I might Have the wish I wish tonight.
Did you make a wish? I think I'd like to share mine with you.
Would you like to hear it? I wished we could go up into the stars and see what they're like up there.
Do you think we could be imaginary astronauts that fly up into space?
I think so. We can be anything when we're imagining Anything we want to be, imagine with me Yes, let's go to the stars!
I'm very excited! But there are a few special things we'll need to wear before we can go to space.
So let's get ready for liftoff together!
Getting ready, ready, ready, ready, ready, ready, ready, ready, ready, ready, ready to go.
Put on your spacesuit. Put on your space helmet.
Put on your space boots! And we'll put on a jetpack so we can fly!
We did it! Now we're ready, ready, ready, ready, ready, ready to go!
Hey, Katie. Don't forget the countdown. Yes, let's countdown from 10.
Then we can press the imaginary button on our imaginary jetpack.
And it will take us up to space. Ten. Nine.
Eight, seven, six, five, four, three. Who won?
Blast off! Up we go! We're zooming right up into the sky like a shooting star.
Well, I can imagine I feel the pressure pushing against my spacesuit as we soar higher.
Higher. Moving right through the clouds.
Wow. The sky isn't so blue anymore, is it?
It's darker because now we are in space.
The stars are even brighter up here. shining all around like twinkling diamonds.
Our bodies float up here in space too. Can you imagine yourself floating magically among the stars?
I see a group of twinkling stars over there.
The stars all together kind of look like a picture of a bear.
It must be a constellation. A constellation is a group of stars that make a picture.
And you have to use your imagination a little bit, but we're going to doing that.
The stars make a head, four legs, and a tail.
You can imagine it in your mind. It looks like a bear.
It does look like a little bear. La starry bear has four paws four paws For pause, the starry bear has For pause, I love the starry bear Four paws made from four stars.
Let's imagine that this little bear made from stars can move its starry paws and use them to run around with us in space.
Let's imagine the little bear starts to move its starry paws.
One paw first, then the other, It can wiggle its starry tail and looks all for us with its starry eyes.
I think the little bear is inviting us for a ride.
Let's hop on and go! Let's go, little bear!
Let's go through the stars! We're flying through space on the Great Bear constellation.
We're going so fast. All the stars look like shooting stars going past us.
Can you imagine them zooming by as we soar through the stars?
Wow. Let's slow down, little bear. We're really far out into space now.
It's so quiet out here. Just us and the stars.
Everywhere I look in my mind, I see more stars and more space.
It's so big. Can we find the brightest star?
Let's look around in our imaginations and find the brightest star we can see.
Look around and see what can be found I see The biggest bright star.
Way off there in the distance. Can you picture it?
It twinkles so brightly among the others.
Twinkle, twinkle, little star How I won Hmm, I do wonder what this big bright star is.
Let's get closer and see if we can find out.
Let's pretend to move towards the big bright star.
It's getting closer and closer. The star is getting bigger and bigger.
It's also getting warmer and warmer. Does it feel hot in here?
I'm imagining it's really, really hot. Me too!
It's getting hotter the closer we get to the big bright star.
Hey, wait a minute. This star is no ordinary star.
This star is the sun. No wonder we're feeling so warm.
The sun is the closest star to our planet.
And I know the sun can feel really hot, even way down there on Earth.
So up here. The sun feels really, really hot.
It's making me really thirsty. Yes, I think we astronauts could use a drink of water.
There's no water up here in space, but...
There is lots of water back down on Earth.
Our imagination adventure is almost over, so let's pretend to float back down to Earth, and we can cool off.
We'll press the imaginary button on the imaginary jetpack one more time. and we'll journey down, down, down, down, back to the ground where we started.
Wow, we're back under the night sky. What an amazing imagination adventure through the stars we had.
Stars are so beautiful and so interesting too.
Twinkle, twinkle little star How I wonder what You are up above the world so high in the sky twinkle twinkle little star I'm so glad we got to take a closer look at the stars using our imaginations.
