It's time to come back from work.
I'm so tired.
We haven't seen Sunbeck for the past 24 hours.
It's a Sunday morning and I've been studying for this exam.
We have... Oh my god!
Whoa, look at this.
This is so pretty.
How pretty is that?
How pretty is that?
I wish I could see the sky from my apartment but I can't.
Anyway, we're outside because I need to get my carpet from my car and start decorating the house.
Actually, someone asked why are you waking up early to do stuff like before work?
You can just do it when you come back from work.
It's still gonna be there.
My answer to that when I come back from work I'm so tired I have literally no energy to do anything.
For me, an hour before work In the morning is equal to like five hours after work, because I'm a lot more efficient.
I enjoy it a lot more.
This is how the apartment looks right now.
I recently moved in here, but before I could properly settle in, I had back-to-back 12 and a half hour long night shifts as a doctor, so I had no time to do anything other than work sleep, repeat.
And now I'm dealing with the aftermath.
So this morning's mission is to deal with this mess and make this place feel like home before I go back to work at nine o'clock.
I mean, I have to be there at night, so I probably leave at half past eight.
I'm just trying to finish food that will go out of date.
Otherwise this cheese is going to go out of date.
It's already gone out of date apparently but it tastes fine.
Another problem with this house is that The fridge door doesn't close properly.
Look, it will come back out.
One, two.
Oh, it didn't.
We're gonna start by unpacking this big whiteboard I got so I can write down my goals and to-do lists where I can see them every day, and having it right in front of me keeps me accountable, helps me stay on track and just makes it less overwhelming.
It's like giving my brain a big screen rather than trying to keep it all in my head.
This is quite big.
I want it to be big.
Okay.
I also got these command strips because I'm not gonna be drilling a hole on this wall and lose my deposit.
I don't want to do that.
I'm only renting here.
I'm trying to decide where I should put this whiteboard.
I want to make sure it's easily seen so I don't forget my goals.
You know um, maybe here, or maybe by my study space desk area, but then how would I be writing my to-do list?
Like that would be hard, So probably not here.
Even though I would see it straight on.
Like it's in the middle of the house.
There's no way I would have missed it.
Shall I put it here?
Let me see.
If it's there, it would look like that.
If it's over there.
I don't know.
I don't know where to put.
I might have to decide on that when I come back from work, actually because I need to leave.
Yeah, it's 8.25.
Can you even see me?
Is this straight?
It's time for my least favourite part of moving in which is breaking these boxes.
To be fair, I'm low-key enjoying this right now.
I think I didn't like it before because I didn't have gloves and I had cuts in my hands whilst I was trying to break it.
But with gloves, it's low-key satisfying.
Whoa, that was very strong of me.
The funny thing about being out and about cleaning.
Taking the bins out this early in the morning means I get to bump into our cleaning lady of the building.
She's trying to clean the apartment and building before anyone else wakes up.
It's a Sunday morning and I've been studying for this exam we have today as part of our training as a doctor.
It starts at 8am and finishes at 7.30pm in the evening.
So it will be a full day thing.
It will consist of a written and a practical exam.
It's on ALS, so Advanced Life Support.
It will include everything related to a medical emergency support of a patient like CPR.
So if a patient's heart stops, how do you manage that?
And in general, management of a deteriorating patient.
I'm just doing some last minute prep.
And it's simply to remind us that when this occurs as a new development in someone presenting with clinically suspected myocardial infarction with a view to primary PCI.
So, as an ALS provider, it's important to we're out out of this horrible day finally.
Finally, it's literally dark outside.
We haven't, we haven't seen sunlight for the past like 24 hours because we literally in the morning it was so early.
What time is it now?
It's half past seven.
Uh yeah, how are we spending our sunday is crazy.
I know At least we're going for a dinner now.
Yeah, we're going for our post-exam dinner.
Let's see if I'm actually gonna go.
No, I'm gonna go, I'm gonna go.
Since I committed to it, I will go.
I came home from work to the biggest delivery of this house so far!
This is my new chair.
I paid way too much money.
This is one of the most expensive things I own, I think.
But I see it as an investment for my back.
Anyway, before I try to, you know, justify my splurge, let me show you the product.
And also, we got a new carpet as well for this living room area.
As a Turkish girl, if there is no carpet in the house, I don't feel like it's a house, you know?
It doesn't feel like a home to me.
How do we set this up?
One tiny bit at all, to be honest.
This chair is a big upgrade from the chair that came with the house.
To be honest, it wasn't very uncomfortable.
I think it's just I'm not sure about the aesthetic.
Overall, I think I'm happy with the chair.
I'll let you know if it's worth the money or not because I paid a thousand pounds for this.
I know, I know.
But this is the chair that I want to take with me once I get my own house or get married and move in with my husband.
I want this chair in there.
I want my future kids to see this chair.
I want this chair to be very durable and last for years and years.
And that's why I got it okay.
It's time for carpet reveal.
I tried to get sage green carpet right, but i'm not sure if this is sage green and i'm not sure if it's gonna fit this gray couch.
I just feel like there's not much color in this house.
It's all very grayish and, you know, i don't get much sunlight anyway.
So i wanted to get something colorful, but i'm not sure if this is colorful enough.
We'll see.
I just need someone to help me lift this up.
Okay, wait.
I can't.
It's too heavy for me.
I was trying to flatten this carpet.
Is this good enough?
This looks okay.
I stole this cushion from mum and a friend gifted me some plants.
And with this green beautiful carpet, finally this place feels like home.
All the blood, sweat and tears I put in during my most precious morning hours before work and my very limited time off work in general.
It's that's how.
