In a bizarre theft, a woman walked into the restroom of a restaurant in greater Manchester, UK, and stole a designer sink worth about $190.
CCTV footage shows her entering with an empty bag and leaving 10 minutes later with it noticeably full along with a missing sink.
The restaurant owner said in 25 years of business, he's never seen anything like it.
Beachgoers in Baja, California, sir, were stunned when a rare oarfish, often called a doomsday fish, washed up on the beach.
These deep -sea creatures are rarely seen and are believed in some cultures to signal earthquakes or natural disasters.
Locals tried returning it to the ocean, but the massive fish kept swimming back.
And finally, sky watchers, did you see it?
There was a rare seven -planet alignment that lit up the night last Friday.

In a bizarre theft, in a crazy theft, in a very strange burglary, in a really weird crime situation, a woman walked into the restroom of a restaurant, the bathroom of a restaurant, Where?
In Greater Manchester.
Is it Manchester or Manchester?
I don't know. I think it's Manchester.
Sorry. So it's not Manchester.
It's Greater Manchester.
That's the city name.
Greater Manchester, UK.
Okay? So in the UK, not Manchester, Greater Manchester, some woman went into the bathroom of a restaurant.
And what did she do?
and stole a designer sink worth about $190.
What? A sink. You know, where you wash your hands in a bathroom.
But it was a designer sink.
So I guess it was kind of cool looking, special.
She stole it. What?
She stole his sink.
I remember, I don't know if you saw it, when Elon Musk bought X or Twitter, he brought in a sink, but this lady goes to a restaurant and takes out a sink, and it's a bathroom sink.
That's disgusting. It's dirty.
But it was a designer's sink, so maybe it was pretty, but the value was $190.
That doesn't sound that expensive for a designer sink.
$190. Anyway, she stole it.
Yeah. CCTV. That's that video that always watches you.
Footage video, CCTV footage, CCTV video shows her entering with an empty bag and leaving 10 minutes later with it the bag noticeably obviously clearly full along with a missing sink wow so this lady stole a stole a sink in 10 minutes good job wow that's impressive this lady stole a sink in 10 minutes
and put it in a bag wow the restaurant owner said in 25 years of business he's never seen anything like it yeah wow i wonder if she's going to use it in her house maybe she's going to resell it I don't know I have no idea She sounds scary But she also sounds very Skilled I don't know could you think
about that Think about the situation You go to a restaurant you go to the bathroom You see the sink you say wow This is nice do you think You could remove The sink and leave the Restaurant within ten minutes I don't think I could all right the second story scary beach goers people who like the beach
are you a beach goer you can go in the winter time and walk and enjoy the seagulls and the waves and the sunset or sunrise beach goers one word b -e -a -c -h g -o -e -r -s people who enjoy going to the beach beach goers movie goers stadium goers concert goers anyway beach goers where?
In Baja California Sur this is Mexico it's not California but it's south of California it's the Baja Peninsula there's a specific area that's called the Baja California Sur ok so beach goers in Mexico.
Where in Mexico? In Baja California, sir.
We're stunned. We're very surprised.
We're shocked when a rare, very difficult to see, very difficult to find.
You never see them.
You never see them a rare what?
Or fish. Or fish. O -A -R -F -I -S -H.
One word. O -A -R -F -I -S -H.
An or fish is very flat and very long and kind of weird looking.
Yeah. But it's very rare to see one.
to see one is very rare because they live in the deep deep deep deep ocean not on top so these people saw one this is weird beachgoers in baja california surf were stunned when a rare orfish this orfish has another name its other name is doomsday fish dun dun dun doomsday one word doomsday d -o -o -m -s

Bad news day. Disaster day.
Catastrophe day. This is not a good day.
This fish has a nickname.
Its nickname is the doomsday fish.
In other words, you never see this fish.
But if you do, that day will be a bad day.
Beach goers in Baja, California, sir, were stunned when a rare oar fish Often called a doomsday fish, washed up on the beach So fish swim, right?
Fish are not dumb Do they swim onto the beach where people are laying down getting a suntan?
No, they don't Unless they're sick or, you know, perhaps dead.
Something's weird. If you see a fish on the beach that's alive, there's a problem with the fish or with something.
So that's why we use the verb washed up on the beach.
This rare oarfish washed up on the beach.
it was the waves brought that fish onto the beach it was still alive so people were shocked these deep sea creatures these rare ore fish are rarely seen because they live in such deep deep areas and these deep sea creatures these doomsday fish these rare ore fish are believed in some cultures, perhaps
Mexico, to signal, to signify, to tell that earthquakes or natural disasters, tsunamis, oh my God, locals, people that lived there, local people tried returning it to the ocean, go back, please, please, scary fish, go back to the ocean, they put it back into the water.
They tried to return it to the ocean, but the massive fish kept swimming back.
No, no, I must go on to the beach.
That's scary, right?
That is scary. Gosh, I hope nothing happens.
Right now, what is it?

Did you see it? See what?
What, what, what, what?
There was a rare, Very hard to see.
Very difficult to see.
Like the oarfish. Very rare.
A very rare seven -planet alignment.
You know the planets, right?
What do we got? Mercury, Venus, Mars, Earth, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, Uranus, Pluto.
See, I still include Pluto.
Did I get them all?
Nine planets if you include Pluto.
Then there's the sun, right?
Then there's the moon, of course.
The seven planets. Ooh, wow.
Seven planets. Alignment.
Alignment means they're all in a row.
Pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop.
Because sometimes you look at the night sky and you can see Venus over here.
Boop. And you can see Jupiter over here.
Pop. And you can see maybe like Mercury or I guess it would be Mars.
Mars. You can see Mars You can see Jupiter You can see Venus But they're like here, there But no, no, no, no These 7 planets Were in a row In a line That lit up the sky When?

On August 10th, six planets, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Uranus.
So no Neptune, but those six planets will once again line up.
That's nice. Kind of a magical day, right?
Maybe kind of magical.
I'm going to read the stories once more.
If you're a member, you're going to listen to a great song.
It's a tribute to the woman in Greater Manchester who stole the bathroom sink.
I'm guessing why did she steal a bathroom sink?
She's probably trying to build a home one piece at a time.
Johnny Cash has a fantastic song about building a car, a Cadillac, one piece at a time.
Didn't really work out.
But anyway, it's a great song.
And don't forget, when you are a member, I try to use songs where the lyrics are.
So we actually have a video of this podcast if you want to see it.
And you can actually see the lyrics of the song.
It's great. All right.
But before we get to the music, let's go ahead and listen to the stories one more time.

when i just started thinking about moons and i I was thinking about the blue moon.
Have you ever heard of the blue moon, B -L -U -E, blue moon?
Well, it refers to the rare occurrence of a second full moon within a singular, oops, within a single calendar month.
So it's March, right?
March 1st, March 31st, how many blue, how many full moons do we have in the month of March?
Just one. No, we need two.
The second full moon in a single calendar month is called a blue moon.
And in Scotland, which is very similar to Irish culture, by the way, which I am, this event is sometimes called the wish -granting moon.
So if you ever experience a blue moon, you should make a wish because the wishes are stronger especially if they're selfless and intended for the benefit of others.
So if I ever come upon a blue moon, I'll tell you what I will wish for.
I will wish for your success in English.
Oh, by the way, the next blue moon doesn't come until 2026.
Thank you very much, country Shane.
Interesting, the blue moon.
Oh, that's such an easy definition.
What is a blue moon?
It's simply the second full moon within a regular
