Cody, wanna hear a story?
Yes, I do.
Can I please help tell it, too?
Yes, listen close.
Let's imagine and rhyme.
It's Cocomelon Storytime!
That smells yummy, Daddy.
Is the cake ready?
Not yet, Cody.
It still has to bake in the oven.
What if I help?
Can we make it faster?
That's great you want to help.
You can help frost the cake once it's cooled down.
And you know, I've got just the story to tell while it finishes baking.
It's called Little Hen's Big Party.
Yay!
There once was a little red hen who loved to throw big parties for all of her friends.
I love parties.
I do too.
And on this day, Little Hen was planning a big party with a big cake.
Just like the one we're baking.
Yeah.
But even bigger.
How big?
Bigger than a pterodactyl.
It can't be that big, Daddy.
You're probably right.
But it still was a pretty big cake.
So Hen needed lots of flour to make it.
And since flour is made from wheat, she headed to a big field where brown wheat grows.
As she walked, little Hen thought about the cake and the party and said so much left to do.
If only someone else helped too.
Just then, Little Hen got to the river and saw one of the friends she invited to her party.
Quack, quack.
The duck.
That's right.
The Little Hen said, duck!
To make cake flour, I need wheat.
A little help sure would be sweet.
Sorry, Little Hen, said the duck.
I'm too busy splashing in the river to help pick wheat.
But now the hen will have to get the wheat herself.
You're right, Cody.
But she still had plenty of time before the party.
So hen went to the field and plucked a few bunches of wheat.
Pluck, pluck.
Then hen headed home and started grinding the wheat into flour.
And she poured it in a mixing bowl with the other ingredients.
Hen looked at the clock and it was almost party time.
She thought, So much left to do, if only someone else helped too.
Just then, she heard something going boing, boing, boing outside her window.
What could be making that boing sound?
That's when she saw another friend she invited to her party.
It was Pig Walking Guy, bouncing his ball.
Boing, boing, boing.
Pig, there's a lot to do, and my party starts soon.
Would you stir this batter with my mixing spoon?
Whoa, sorry, Little Hen, said the pig.
I'm too busy bouncing my ball to help stir the batter.
The pig didn't help either?
Nope.
He just kept on bouncing his ball with a boing, boing, boing.
Little Hen was worried she wouldn't get everything done in time for the party.
She thought, boog, boog, boog, I've still got so much left to do.
Someone else helped, too.
But with no time to waste, Hen stirred the batter herself.
Gloop, gloop.
Then put it in the oven to bake.
Like ours.
Mm-hmm.
Down the street, Duck and Pig smelled something.
What do you think they smelled, Cody?
Little Hen's cake.
Yes.
And boy, did it smell yummy.
Duck waddled and Pig trotted towards the smell.
Quack, quack. and they ended up at Little Hen's house.
The pig asked, whoa, Little Hen, that big cake sure smells nice.
Did your party start?
Can I have a slice?
Little Hen shook her head and said, you can't have a slice because the party isn't ready to start.
I still need to frost the cake, decorate and set the table.
The duck realized if I helped instead of splashing in the river, Maybe the party would be ready by now.
I could have helped, too, instead of bouncing my ball.
The duck and pig felt really bad for not helping the hen before.
But they thought maybe they could help her now.
You've still got so much left to do.
But now it's not all up to you.
We can help and do our part.
So your big party can start.
Little Hen, what can we do to help?
Thank you, Duck and Pig.
I'll frost the cake.
Duck, you can decorate.
And Pig, please set the table.
Yay!
Everyone's helping.
So the party is going to be ready way sooner.
Yes.
The cake was cool.
So Little Hen spread on some frosting.
Shloop, shloop, shloop.
While Duck blew up some balloons.
Meanwhile, Pig set out the forks and plates.
Cling, cling.
Now was the party ready?
You know it.
All the hard work was done.
It was time for some fun.
Yay!
Little Hen, Duck, and Pig blew their party horns.
Toot, toot.
And munched on slices of yummy cake.
Mm-hmm.
Because everyone helped out, Little Hen's big party turned into a big success.
The end.
That's the oven.
Our cake's almost done, too.
Oh, I can't wait to help frost it once it cools down.
I want to help, too.
We'll do it together, Daddy.
Then we'll be done faster.
And we can eat it.
Mmm.
We heard a story.
Yes, it's true.
We listened, imagined, and made some rhymes for Cocomelon Storytime!
