What up, squirmy -wormies?
It's your worm, DJ Squirm Align, the world's greatest DJ who also happens to be a worm.
I am so excited because it's summer time!
I love summer time!
You know, living my high flying DJ life, traveling the world to glamorous locations, trying new cuisines, staying in luxury hotels and meeting my fans.
But also, sometimes in the summertime, a worm just wants to relax and go back to their roots, you know?
And by roots, I mean dirt.
That's why I'm here to visit the premier summer camp for worms on the eastern seaboard.
Yup, I'm talking camp dirt!
Bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam!
I know you may be shocked that a famous DJ such as myself would want to go to summer camp, but actually, I love camp!
Did you know that when I was a young worm myself, I went to camp dirt every summer as a camper, and did all sorts of fun camp things, like making macrame out of long pieces of grass, swimming in dirty puddles, and using an old pottery wheel to make tiny pots out of dirt.
And then eating those tiny pots because I'm a worm, and I love to eat dirt.
But here's the best part.
This year, there's a new camper here at camp dirt, a camper who's very special to a lunky squirm -a -lot, and he doesn't know I'm here.
Oh, here he comes right now!
I better hide behind this rock so I can jump out and surprise him!
Okay, here he comes!
I see him! One, two, three!
One of my squirmy -wormy networms!
Bam -bam -bam -bam -bam!
Ah! Unky DJ Squirm -a -lot?
Yes, networm, it's me!
Unky DJ Squirm -a -lot.
Wow! What are you doing here at camp dirt?
I'm here to surprise you.
That's great, Unky!
I'm sure you know that I used to be a camper here myself.
Yeah, I know, Unky DJ!
You always tell the same camp stories over and over again!
Well, I'm sure that's not completely true.
Like the time you won the dirt pie eating contest?
Ah, yes. That is a pretty good story.
And the other time you won the dirt pie eating contest?
They were really delicious pies!
Hi, by the way, did you know that there's a picture of you up on the wall of the new audio -visual barn?
There is? Yeah! Wait, did you say audio -visual barn?
Uh -huh, it's where all of the audio and video equipment is, so that we can learn how to create content.
Ugh, camp sure has changed a lot since I went here.
When I was at camp dirt, it was just a regular barn, full of hay and dirt, and we do all of our hay and dirt -based activities in there.
Like what? You know, like jumping into a hay pile from the top of a taller hay pile, wriggling around in the dirt, finding a very special piece of hay in a haystack.
That game was really hard.
And - Sorry to interrupt, Unky, but the camp director is on his way over.
Do you want to meet him?
You bet I do! If he's the director of this whole camp, he must be a pretty impressive person.
I guess you could say that!
Hold on a second, is that who I think it is?
DJ Squirmalot! There you are!
Lee! What are you doing here?
I'm the camp director at camp dirt.
You're the what? I'm the camp director!
Pretty cool, right?
Sure. Pretty cool, I guess.
I'm so glad you're here!
I've been waiting all morning for you!
What do you mean, waiting for me?
I'm here as a surprise!
No worm knew I was coming!
Yeah, but when I saw Neform on the camp roster for this year, I just knew you'd show up, because, well, you're a very good uncle.
That's true! You really are!
Aw, thanks, Neform.
And the kind of uncle who's great at helping shape young minds!
Oh, so true. And great at teaching courses on DJing!
I mean, I can only assume...
To a bunch of campers at camp dirt!
Lee, what are you talking about?
Hold on, hold on, DJ Squirmalot.
Before I answer that question, maybe you should play a song.
You know, something upbeat and fun to get us all in a yes mindset.
I do not like where this is going.
Squirmies, this first song comes to us from a ten -year -old in New Jersey named Simone.
Simone is the secret theme park!
Alright, next up to tell us about their summer is Simone.
Simone, tell the class the most exciting thing that happened to you this summer.
Um, nothing really exciting happened.
But there was this one day...
One summer day, I was playing some video games when my mom puffed in and said, Simone, we're going to my front house.
I met her at an online work event.
Trust me, she's nice.
Who was mom's most serious friend?
And why did she pause before nice?
I wondered all this as we got in the car.
But the drive to her house wasn't really that far.
At Alicia's house, that's her name.
We sat on the couch and Alicia said, I'll go grab popcorn for the movie.
I'm so happy you all could come.
Trust me, I'm thrilled.
Why'd she use a sing -songy voice?
And why does the couch have a lap bar?
And just like that, the room started to shake.
The floor disappeared and the walls were all thick.
And all I could hear was Alicia singing.
Please keep your hands and feet inside the rollercoaster at all times.
Wait, what? Then we went upside down and super fast.
I saw the ferris wheel as we zoomed on past.
And it all began with a single spark.
Yeah, my mom's friend's house was a secret theme park.
Touch candy, popcorn, mediocre theme park.
This is incredible.
Miss Alicia, when did you build a theme park in your house?
Don't worry about it, Simone.
Just have fun. I couldn't believe what was happening to me.
Oh, yeah, it was a big theme park.
Games and rides as far as the act could seem.
And to my great surprise, the coaster had no lines.
So I run again and again and again and again and again.
Okay, now I'm a little queasy.
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh DJ squirm a lot.
A squirm -squirm in.
So as I was saying, Lee, what are you talking about?
Well, DJ squirm a lot.
As you can see, here we are in the brand new audio visual barn at Camp Dirt.
Wow. It's actually pretty nice in here.
Yep. Right over there is our mini recording studio.
Over here are editing bays.
And right in the middle is the DJ setup.
This is awesome. And of course, hanging right above us is an enormous picture of you, the greatest worm DJ of all time.
You mean greatest DJ who happens to be a worm?
Yeah, yeah, that's what I meant.
You really went all out here, Lee.
I have to admit, I'm impressed.
We're just missing one little thing.
I wonder what that could be.
We really need a really cool, amazing worm to teach DJing to our campers.
And I know you'd be so good at it.
I'm just here to visit for the day, Lee.
But, well, I may have already told the campers that you're coming and doing the DJing course.
You told the campers I was coming.
It just slipped out.
Lee, this is ridiculous.
Your hiring practices are illegal and loathsome.
You know what? While I'm deciding whether to take legal action, why don't we hear another song?
Rammies, this next track comes to us from four -year -old Elias in Washington, and it's called The Porch Boogie.
Hey, porches. Yeah?
It's Friday night, and you know what that means.
Porch boogie. That's right.
So shake loose of your houses and get ready to boogie town.
Boogie down, boogie down, porches down to the boogie down.
Let me tell you a little story about the porch boogie.
It's a dance, porches dance at the porch party.
Yeah, I'm talking about the porches in your neighborhood.
When you're out on Friday night, boy, they're feeling good.
Boogie down, boogie down, porches down to the boogie down.
Now how do porches dance?
Well, I'm glad that you asked.
There's a magic notebook and a spell that it casts.
Though a normal porch party is from seven to 10.
On one fateful night, well, the party would nay.
Boogie down, boogie down, porches down to the boogie down.
Boogie down, boogie down, porches down.
The porch is boogied and boogied all night long.
But they couldn't stop.
Hey, front porch, don't you think this party's way too long?
Yes, screen porch. I agree there's been no ending to this song.
Just then they looked around, then the covered patio said.
That giant took our notebook and broke it with his head.
Sorry. You know, those heads are giant.
You shouldn't do that.
Oh, OK, yeah, I guess I'm going to go.
The notebook broke the music played.
The porches had to dance and stay.
The people took to their lawns and saw that the porches were gone.
Where did my porch go?
I can't believe it's a much -hashing.
Hi, 311. I'd like to report a missing porch.
Yes, I'll hold. After two full days of the porch boogie with the porches still stuck at the porch party, a builder drove by through the neighborhood and spotted all the porches their dancing in the wind.
Ever ending boogie down?
Help us, please, end the boogie down.
Something must be done here.
The builder exclaimed to end the porch party and get order reclaimed.
Now blowing in the breeze, he saw paper fly by.
Could they be from a notebook?
Hmm, maybe it's a slide.
It's a book, it's a sign.
Here's some blue and some twine.
Help us build our nature chess.
Help us stop with the boogie dance.
One page, then another.
Got to glue each page back in.
As the hours passed, he was gluing fast.
But the time was wearing very thin.
A crowd began to gather, those in rows of people deep.
The final page is back in place.
Hey, porches! Wait, they're asleep.
Porches, porches, porches, porches, porches, porches.
The porches left the people cheer.
The party stopped, the forest clear.
Always well around the town at the end of the boogie.
The very long boogie.
End of the boogie, end of the boogie, end of the porches and the boogie town.
La, la, la, la, la.
You're having a big day.
It's the biggest, it's the biggest flavour.
La, la, la, la, la.
You're having a big day.
Sign up for the play.
Mother loves you act.
She studies Stanislavski.
You'll be playing quack, the duck, the lead.
Just learn your lines, you got me.
OK. La, la, la, la, la.
You're having a big day.
You're having a big day.
It's even bigger now, it's bigger now.
La, la, la, la, la.
You're having a big day.
Having a big day. Starring in the play.
Mama learned her mind.
She memorized her part.
When they reached the middle of the play, Mama failed to rumbling.
Mama failed to grumbling down below.
Oh, no. Here we go.
I start to fart. Oh, oh.
Hear the first throw, smells the fart.
They farted back out then the second row.
Smell it in, smell it in.
And they farted back out then the third row.
Smell it in, smell it in.
And they farted back out then the fourth row.
Smell it in, smell it in.
And they farted back out, they farted back out again.
And the fart flies out the exit.
The fart flies out the exit.
And now it's in the world.
And now it's in the world.
And everybody cross and pass.
Smell it in. And farts it out.
And soon enough it's traveled all the way.
You haven't thought.
Head up into the galaxy.
And now it's in the universe.
The universe. Mama, did you fart when you rehearsed?
I didn't. Because we would have been prepared for this.
I'm proud of myself for the fart.
I nailed the part. She's proud of herself for the fart.
I nailed the part. Thank you for coming to my play.
Mama, Mama, you had a big day.
It was the biggest day I ever thought that ever could happen.
Mama, oh, had a big day.
What, what can we say?
I farted at the plane.
Mama, I had a big day.
Welcome back to the story pirate summer mix tape 2024.
I'm your host, DJ Squirmala.
That last song was llama's big day written by a nine -year -old from Massachusetts named Frosina.
And fun fact, that song is on the new story pirates album, Key Change World.
Nelly, what were you saying?
Well, I was saying that the campers, I mean all the little worm campers here at Camp Dirt, were really looking forward to your DJing class.
Lee, there is no DJing class.
Actually, I just looked.
And according to the Camp Dirt schedule tomorrow, you're teaching in the audio visual barn starting at 10 AM.
Thanks, Neflorm. Lee, what were you thinking?
I'm sorry, DJ Squirmala.
I just got excited and I knew that everyone would love it.
Well, maybe no one will sign up.
There are already 78 campers signed up to attend.
78 campers? It's our most popular elective ever.
Really? Wow. Well, I can't let down 78 aspiring worm DJs.
I guess I need to start building my syllabus.
And while I do that, why don't you listeners check out another hot track?
From 6 year old Franny in New York, here's The Fairy Without Wings.
Open your hearts and open your minds.
We're going to tell you a tale of self discovery.
It's about a fairy, the water kind.
And how she became the fairy that she was always meant to be.
She was different, but she didn't have confidence inside.
She didn't think that she could fit in even if she tried so.
When she saw the other fairies, she would run and hide.
We're gonna tell you why.
See, she was a water fairy, but she had a fairly big problem.
Almost fairies have wings.
I'm a fairy and I don't got them.
She used to have them, but one day they were spirited away.
But why she couldn't say, I wonder if I'll ever fly again.
But then one day when she was on her own, she met a new friend that was quite the find.
Another fairy who was all alone, and one who was a different fairy from the water kind.
While the water fairy had blue hair on her head, this new fairy she had hair of gold instead.
And when the water fairy asked, why aren't you flying overhead?
This is what the new fairy said.
You see, I'm a sun fairy, but I have a fairly big problem.
Almost fairies have wings.
I'm a fairy and I don't got them.
She used to have them, but one day they were spirited away.
But why she couldn't say, I wonder if I'll ever fly again.
Hey, I don't have wings either.
Do you want to play?
Oh, okay. And from then on, either fairy was ever lonely again, lonely again.
They would spend their days playing hide and seek as best of friends.
And then one day in their own good time, the fairies came across a waterfall.
Welcome. And underneath something seemed to shine.
So to the water the fairies did call, Hey there waterfall, what do you have inside?
It seems like you've got something that you might be trying to hide.
And if it's special, don't worry in us, you can confide.
And this is how the waterfall replied.
I can see your fairies and you had a fairly big problem.
But look, you've lost your wings.
Well, this waterfall has got them.
I saw you had them one day, and I had to spirit them away.
I'm gonna hide. I'm gonna save.
Sun fairy you have water magic in you.
I do? And water fairy you've got sun magic too.
So sun fairy take these wings blue and you'll be done.
And water fairy take these the color of water sparkling in the sun.
Sun, sun, the sun. So the two fairies they finally got their wings.
Got their wings. And the water fairies hair turned from blue to pink.
Hey, let's fly. And all from the ground they shot into the sky.
Flying with sun and water magic inside.
And then behind them in their magic away.
The very first rainbow of fairies.
Fairies they flew round the rainbow together.
We finally found our wings and now we'll be fine forever.
It was a wonderful day, their wings were spirited away.
But now they're here to stay.
That my friends is how a rainbow, that my friends is how a rainbow, that my friends is how a rainbow was created.
Welcome camp dirt campers.
I'm your camp director, Lee.
And as promised, here's our very special guest educator in the audio visual barn.
Give it up for DJ Squirmel.
Hear, hear, hear, hear, what up Squirmey?
Where me's here in the audio visual barn and listening at home.
I'm so glad you're here for DJ Squirmel's very first DJing class.
Bear, bear, bear, bear.
And your first and most important lesson is coming up after a few words for the grown ups.
Hey grown ups, season seven of the Story Pirates podcast is right around the corner and it's time for your kids to send us their own stories.
But maybe they don't know what to write about.
Luckily Story Pirates is partnering this season with The Week Junior, an incredible magazine that kids can't wait to read.

You can find tickets at storypirates .com slash live.
Now back to the show.
Welcome back to DJ Squirmalot's DJ Lessons That Can't Dirt.
For our first lesson, I'm going to teach you the most important skill a DJ could ever learn.
Yes, of course, I'm talking about smashing that space bar.
That is how we play songs on our laptops.
All right, everyone.
Stretch out your worm bodies and hover over the space bar.
Now, on the count of three.
One, two, three, smash.
Great job, everyone.
You're naturals. Now, I'll smash that space bar for our listeners with another song.
From two best pals in South Carolina named Macy and Lydia, here's The Peach.
Good morning, Mom. Good morning, Sarah.
Do you think we could go to the garden store today?
I would really like to buy some peach seeds.
Of course, honey. Let's go.
I went to the garden store with my momma.
Peach seeds I was looking for with my momma.
She said that we should go down to I .O.
number four. I found a peach seed that glows.
I said come here, Mom, we'll just look at how it's glowing, glowing.
She said just throw it in the buggy and we'll take it home.
Oh, it glows. But I'm a plant it anyway.
After I bought it, then I realized it came with a pack of water that was looking kind of strange.
And it also came with a strange fertilizer.
Do I use it or return it?
Which one is wiser?
I went to the garden store with my momma.
Peach seeds I was looking for with my momma.
She said that we should go down to I .O.
number four. I found a peach seed that glows.
It glows, it glows, it glows.
We took it home and then I added strange fertilizer.
We took it home and then I watered it with strange water.
Oh, it's strange. Strange.
But I did it anyway.
In green one day I was feeling full of love so I hucked that tree and then my peripheral saw some of the pink and then I said ow because it fell and hit me.
It was a glowing peach.
It bounced off my head and it rolled to my feet.
This is something new that I don't really eat so let's begin the feed.
Oh, that's good. Not bad.
I like that. Sarah, if you continue to huck trees you're going to continue to get dirty.
Mom, I just ate a glowing peach.
Sarah, go take a bath.
Okay. Then something happened from the bathtub.
My legs got scaly and they stuck together like one.
I called my mama and I asked her for the first aid.
She said Sarah, we got to take you to the mermaids.
I went to the garden store with my momma.
Peach seeds what were looking for me and mama.
Said that we should go down to aisle number four.
I found a peach seed that glows.
It was a glow. My mama took me to the mermaids and they taught me how to swim.
My mama took me to the mermaids and now I can talk to fish.
I met every single mermaid and then they told me they had a queen so I asked now that I know you.
When will I meet your queen?
Um, Sarah. Mom, you have a mermaid tail.
I'm the mermaid queen.
What? I just met the mermaid queen and this my mama.
We were looking for peach seeds.
Me and mama bought a seed that glows.
Now I don't have any toes because I ate a peach that glows.
I just found out that my own mother is a mermaid.
The garden store is where it started with the glowing peach.
Hey, Mom. I'll be a mermaid with you any day.
Glowing. Well, come back to the Story Pirates Summer Mix Tape 2024.
I'm your host, DJ Squirm -a -Lot.
Wow, fantastic job, little DJs in training.
Who knew that teaching a DJing class at Camp Dirt would be so much fun?
Well, let's keep the fun going with another track.
From seven -year -old Ben in Virginia is Backstroke Raptor.

Connect them to the other end of the wire.
Gotta have a motor, get me a motor.
Technically different from the engine.

Hey backstroke rafter, where are you leading us anyway?
To a new rafter habitat, it's called Medoo!
Medoo! We should bay there in just a couple of days.
I'm a rapture, there's a lot of backstroke.
And do you wanna ride in a boat with us?
Okay, of course! Who's that rafter swimming in the ocean?
Swinging his arms in a reverse motion.
He can do the backstroke, we can fix a boat.
The coolest rafters anybody knows!
Backstroke rafter! Backstroke rafter!
Backstroke velociraptor!
Backstroke rafter! Backstroke rafter!

None of this has convinced me to play basketball again.
No, there's more. There's so much more.
Everyone, to position three for the big finale, please.
So now you have your basketball plant And it's full of basketballs But watch out, because the basketballs might spit at you Oh no And the basketballs that shoot at you Might spit out smaller ones that explode And then those exploded ones May accidentally shoot poison At you on accident Actually on purpose
And then if you got poison You are frozen for one minute And then you can move again And then you can move again Swish So, Todd, what do you think, buddy?
Todd? Yeah, Todd left like four minutes ago.
Hmmmm That's how you make a basketball plant How you make a basketball plant You know what, Coach?
Maybe this is why we keep losing.
Huh. You know what, maybe.
All right, the New York Knicks, let's go win some NBA games.
Hey, Coach, is practice over?
It's called rehearsal.
The end!
