Hey there, listeners.
Bad news. Phineas Jr., the office ficus plant is leaving us.
HQ thinks his skills would be better put to use in our office on the other side of town, the central, hypercritical evaluation and education clinic, otherwise known as CHEAP.
This place ain't gonna be the same without him, but the show must go on.
This week, we're heading somewhere cold, but you'll never guess who we run into there.
Okay, I'll give you a hint.
They are also time travelers and podcasters and their names rhyme with windy and by gauze and their podcast is called WoW in the World.
Okay, that's probably too many hints.
I think you probably know who I'm talking about now.
Cross -over alert. I'm Carley Q and this is Who When WoW Mystery Edition.
Our past is vast and wild.
Many things have brought us to this day.
As history has been compiled, some important details have slipped away.
In our spectacular shared existence, we consider it a business to recognize a few vogues you may not know.
Made important inventions, asked all the right questions, history will never be the same.
There were mixed emotions when I entered the office that morning.
A lot of us were sad, but Louis, you seemed a little on edge.
I got stuck in traffic.
I ate it. I ate an emotional theater and this morning I had a lot of emotions.
So what are we gonna do now?
Don't you worry your pretty little head about it.
I always keep an emergency pie behind glass under my desk.
Of course you do. I will go grab it now.
Don't be late. We're starting the party right after once.
Got it. As I made my way down to my office, I tried to remember how long ago I had stored my emergency pie.
It's still good, right?
Oh, my nose! Literally, a new time sealed event shot out of the delivery tube and hit me square in the nose.
Literally, let's see what you're about.
Event, the Yeti f*** Eric Shipton Himalayas, 1951.
Yeti? Like the water bottle?
Okay, let's see. After consulting with H -Dad, I learned that the Yeti was a mythical ape -like creature that lived in the snowy Himalayan mountains.
Oh, like the abominable snowman.
Correct. Perhaps a mystery was the perfect thing to distract me from the fact that my best plant friend was being transferred to another office.
So with that, I went back to looking for my emergency pie and waited for lunch.
Lunchtime rolled around and I was helping Odie sort through the time elevators lost and found, looking for some warm clothes.
It's perfect. Speaking of perfect clothes, you know what else is perfect?
My thighs bounce back and forth with Yeti, Vinnius Jr., and pie.
I'm sure you'll miss Vinnius, but I know you will make new friends, too.
Remember? When one door closes, another opens.
Yeah, yeah, I think I get what you're saying.
Oh, pass me that doggone.
Oh, no, that won't work.
Carly! Where's the pie?
The break room's all set up for the going away party.
Luis, you can't just come charging down here demanding pie.
Don't worry, the pie is safely behind the glass ready to go.
But first, I have to make a super quick teeny tiny little trip to the Himalayas.
What? Why do you think we're going through all this lost and found?
We got to find something warm.
The elevator has a lost and found?
Yeah, check it out.
Suit of armor, a puffy pirate shirt, bucket hat.
And why are you going to the Himalayas?
Looks like I added an extra law.
You did. To find the Yeti.
You know, the big hairy snow ape that lives in the mountains.
Right. What about this?
Is that a coat from the Revolutionary War?
Even better. It's two coats from the Revolutionary War.
What do you say, Luis?
Quick trip out to Central Asia before Phineas is big going away party?
You do remember that the elevator changes our clothes.
I tried to tell her.
You are avoiding my question.
Okay, fine. But only to make sure you get back on time.
Yes, of course. Here, catch.
Why are we wearing these?
Why not? Okay, you two, remember the rules.
Don't change the past and be back by the end of lunchtime.
We know. Also, don't eat the yellow snow.
If there is a Yeti, it won't be puffy -trained.
Now those are worth the wisdom.
Hey, grownups. Mindy here from Wow in the World.
And let me tell you, Carly Q and I are so excited to make it Wow in New York City.
I mean, New York and San Francisco with our new live show, Make It Wow, presented by Audible.
There's more to imagine when you listen.
And apparently you're excited too because our San Francisco performance is filling up and our New York City performance is almost sold out.
So we're adding even more Wow with a second show for New York City.
Grownups, get your tickets today at tinkercast .com slash events.
That's tinkercast .com slash events.
That's it. We'll see you there.
Carly, I can't see a thing.
Yeah, this snow storm is pretty bad.
How are we going to find anything in this weather?
I don't know. Maybe someone will find us.
In the middle of the Himalayan mountains?
Too many laws. Hello there.
Daddy? No, my name is Reginald Bailey.
I've been sent to collect you.
You've been sent to collect us?
Indeed. You are the two research assistants from Catman Doo, are you not?
Of course. Who else would we be?
Excellent. Mr. Shipton is waiting for you in camp.
It's right this way.
Follow me. Lewis Tents.
Looks like we're actually quite close after all.
Mr. Shipton is right through here in the mess tent.
Excuse me, sir. Yes, Reggie, what is it?
Those two researchers from Catman Doo have arrived.
Ah, excellent. Names?
Carly Kew. Lewis. Pleasure to meet you both.
I suppose you're here about the photo.
The photo? Of the Yeti footprint.
Yeti footprint? Precisely.
What is that? That, less than 20 ,000 feet above sea level.
Or should you say snow level, huh?
Okay, tough crowd. Who in their right mind would go out in the snow barefoot?
Not you, but what? You don't think it could be?
For centuries the natives have spoken of a tin -foot tall beast covered in fur with the dimensions and gait of a giant man.
And you think this creature left its footprint in the snow?
That is the million pound question.
And the reason you and your colleague have been brought out here to investigate this Yeti footprint.
Booyah, baby. But if all we can set out there is some business that needs to be attended to.
Business? Your outfit.
I fear for your extremities and their future as an affixed part of your body.
Uh, what? He said we're going to lose our toes and fingers if we go out in the snow like this again.
But the elevator needs a tune up, Avi.
Fear not. Reggie will get you sorted out with some proper gear.
Reggie. Yes, sir. Take these two over to the equipment tent and get them outfitted for the expedition.
Very good, right away, sir.
Who isn't this exciting?
Lewis, a real -life Yeti hunt.
What's exciting is the idea of getting into more of her clothing.
Carly. Oh, I do love an equipment tent.
Oh, right. Let's see.
We have hiking pants here.
We have thermal jackets here and here the boots and headwear is stored.
You two wait right here.
I'll be right back.
Ooh, look at me. This jacket is so fluffy.
Carly. Huh? Those must be the real researchers.
Our cover is blown.
Lewis, don't get your scrunchies in a bundle.
It could be anyone out there.
At 20 ,000 feet? Yeah.
People love going for hikes these days.
Those days. Any days, really.
What was that? Uh, the wind?
That was a ... Ow. Uh, hello?
Oh, hi. Carly Q. Nice to meet you.
Uh, hi there, Carly.
I'm Mindy. And I'm Guy Raz.
Oh, nice revolutionary war costumes.
Seems like an unusual choice for the Himalayas in 1951.
Says the man in the space suit.
Fair enough. Wait, are you two traveling through time too?
We are. Huh? Carly Q.
We're really not meant to talk about that.
They're wearing space suits, Lewis.
I think we can trust them.
This is so exciting.
For as big as the time space continuum is, you hardly ever see people traveling across it.
What is that thing?
Why isn't growling?
We're over there in the snow.
Is that the Yeti? Did we find it?
Big? Hairy? Covered in white fur?
Sure looks like a Yeti to me.
That thing must be 10 feet tall.
And it's getting on all fours and heading straight for us.
Don't worry, everyone.
I have the wow machine working right around the corner.
You have a wow machine?
That's incredible. A wow machine?
What is a wow machine?
You're quick. Open the hatch.
Open it. Open it. Open it.
Mindy, quick! There.
Got it. Hurry. Everyone inside.
Everyone stay very, very quiet.
What? I can't hear you.
You gotta talk louder.
Mandy? Shh. I'm here.
Mandy, what was that thing?
It was. I told you.
It was a Yeti. Ah, what was that?
Oh, that's just my age dad.
Sorry, I thought I put this thing on silent.
No information found on local wildlife.
Animaloji, running emoji, scared face emoji.
Local wildlife? Maybe he can tell us what just chased us out of the camp.
Well, we already know what that was, Louis.
It was a Yeti. Just ask, H -Dad.
Ugh, fine. H -Dad, what creature almost ate me and my new friends?
Analyzing. Hourglass emoji.
Hourglass emoji. Hourglass emoji.
Another hourglass - Uhh.
How long does this usually take?
You know, it varies from episode to episode.
Episode? Hourglass emoji.
Analysts is complete!
The creature located 400 feet north of the current location is identified as - Ugh, I can't handle this attention!
A Himalayan black bear.
A Himalayan black bear?
A mumble crust. I could have sworn it was a Yeti.
Additional study relating to Yeti is found in 2017 from the University of Buffalo.
Ky -Ras, that's the same study we heard about on the news.
Yeah. In 2017, scientists analyzed nine samples of Yeti hair, Yeti teeth, and Yeti bones and concluded that eight of the nine samples contained bear DNA.
Bear emoji. Helix emoji.
Shocked face emoji.
But what about the last sample?
Yeah, maybe it was the Yeti DNA.
H -Dad, was the final DNA sample from a Yeti?
The final sample contained canine DNA.
Dog emoji. Helix emoji.
Laughing crying emoji.
So, no Yeti? Afraid not.
Alarm sound! Sorry, sorry, sorry.
Still not on silent.
Alarm sound. Lunch break is over.
Return to the time elevator immediately.
Alarm clock emoji. Set face emoji.
Well, sounds like it's time for us to go.
Aw, really? But we just met you.
Yeah, we have this very important rule that says we have to be back at HQ by the end of lunch.
Wait, you guys are on your lunch break?
Can we at least give you a ride back?
I mean, this whole gal still got some gas in the tank.
Ignore that. Super nice of you, but we actually have this time elevator thing that we use.
Ooh, an elevator! Who do they have playing?
What? He's obsessed with elevator music.
Oh, I don't know about the elevator music, but we do have an elevator operator.
Odie, you would love her.
She's been around forever, like, maybe legit forever.
We should ask her to sing for us.
Lewis, do you think Odie sings?
I don't know, Carly Q.
All I know is that we're almost out of time.
We need to go. Fine.
Sorry, friends. We gotta go.
But it was a nice meeting you.
Uh, how do I - Oh, hang on.
I'll help you here.
There's a special trick to it.
Uh, stand back. Oh, no.
There you go. Um, thanks.
Safe travels! Bye, Mindy.
Bye, Guy Ross. Bye, Carly.
Bye, Lewis. Well, they seem nice.
We should check out their podcast.
Sounds good, but we have to get out of here before we have another bear encounter.
Worse, a write -up from management!
Oh, no, not a write -up!
It's all fun and games until you get a demi - Welcome back, you two.
Thanks, Odie. So, did you get to the bottom of that Yeti mystery?
Yeah, turns out it was just a bear.
A bear? A Himalayan bear?
That doesn't sound good.
It wasn't. But that's not the big news.
What's the big news?
We made two brand new friends!
And they're podcasters.
Aspiring. What did I say?
When one door closes, another one opens.
You may be losing Phineas, but look, you've made new friends already.
Speaking of which, I need to make my way up to the break room to make sure that everything is in order.
Copy that, and I shall retrieve the emergency pie.
See you there in five!
And even though we are sad to see it go, I know we all wish Phineas the best of you.
And now to say a few words, Carly Q.
So I ended up learning a little more than just the identity of the Yeti this week.
I learned a few things about friendship, too.
I learned that if you leave your heart open, friendship can find you anywhere.
Even three quarters of a century ago in the Himalayan mountain range.
I'm still gonna miss Phineas, Jr.
We are all heartbroken.
But I'm also looking forward to more adventures with Mindy and Guy Ross on future episodes of Who, When, Wow?
Mystery Edition. Until then, I'm Carly Q.
And remember, you never heard this.
To Phineas, Jr., the best of all of us.
But I am gonna listen to Wow!
in the world. Sounds good.
And before you go, tell us about yourself by filling out a short survey at wondry .com.
