I've decided to change the style of this podcast a little bit.
For a long time kind of been talking about set topics.
I've kind of been talking about personal development and spirituality and some complicated topics for some of you.
But i've decided to change things up a little bit.
And I think I just want to start talking more about daily life and just things going on in my life, because I think this is the best way to learn English.
How I learned Japanese was just learning about things that occur on a daily basis.
And I think that's what I want to start doing moving forward.
So if you're interested in my daily life and.
Just topics about daily life from my perspective with my American accent.
I hope you stay along for the journey.
And I'd love to hear from more of you moving into the future.
So what I want to talk about today... was my experience going to a live house.
Now this word live house is more of a Japanese English word.
The word live house basically means a venue.
A venue is a place where events are held.
And you can think of a live house.
Like a bar with a small stage.
That's pretty much what a live house is.
We don't really have these places too much in the U.S. and California where I'm from.
We mostly have these places called venues and they're like these kind of warehouse style places that you can rent out and hold events.
But a live house is primarily for music.
So tonight i attended a event where there were hip-hop dancers and some musicians.
It was kind of like a multicultural event.
There was hip-hop dancers, There was live music.
There were African drummers.
And it was just a multicultural event.
And it was really nice.
It was really nice because I haven't been to a live house in a really long time.
And what I liked about this live house was it was really, really intimate.
Intimate means that it was really close.
So when some performers weren't performing, They would be just talking to the people in the audience and having a drink.
And it was I really like the atmosphere is really laid back.
It wasn't like going to a huge concert.
Like, for example, I think it was like five years ago, my wife and I went to the Bruno Mars concert.
When Bruno Mars came here to Japan and it was in this huge arena thousands, I mean probably hundreds of thousands of people.
But at this live house event, I think there may be, I think there are probably less than a hundred people people.
So it was really, it was really just a, A nice intimate setting.
It was really nice.
It was really nice going to that event today.
It really felt good to experience live music.
I listen to a lot of music.
I have the YouTube music app.
So I listen to a lot of music on there, but it's just a different feeling when you're right in front of live music and you're able to hear it and feel it in your body.
There's nothing like it.
And I'd like to go to more of these events in the future if I can have an opportunity, because it was a really good time.
So I really enjoyed myself going to this live house tonight.

And, like I said, it's just basically a bar with the stage, but the space is really small.
It's really intimate and I think it's good for both performers and fans because, as a performer, You have the opportunity to really connect with your fans and your audience, unlike any other way.
And it's really good for the audience to connect with the performers because you get a chance to talk to them and they're selling their merchandise.
And it's just a really good setting to build relationships.
So if you have a chance, if you ever come to Japan, try to check out a live house.
